Why wasn’t she in the cage? Martin asked himself as he stared at the empty cage. He could see that the side was open enough for someone to get out, but he didn’t understand why she wasn’t there. He left her there in the cage. He clutched his head as a sudden bloody image flickered in his mind like a light being switched on and off. He clenched his jaw, humming to himself. He was seeing things again. His doctor said they were not real, that he only dreamt of the bad stuff. He hasn’t seen him in a while now. If he didn’t go to see him, the bad images became too much for him to handle. Like now, he could already feel his mind filling up with them. But he had to find her before he saw the doctor, Martin thought as he stared at the cage, and then at the tunnel they walked in from the other
