Chapter 15

Rosslyn

"Remember, right now everyone is an enemy. Trust no-one but your pack mates," Raine tells us before we are dismissed. He put me in charge of everyone 15-18, trained in weapons. It is my time to shine. I will prove myself worthy.

I grab my rifle and jog to the front of the pack. I give orders, and we all work together. There are certain talents that only a younger person can do, like climbing trees and hiding in bushes or mud. These are not things other packs would normally do.

We all take our positions. I climb the closest tree to the front gate, which is wide open. I want to see who dares try to walk through it.

We are here for a while before we hear noise. Another explosion. I look around, but I don't see anyone. I don't know where it is coming from, and that makes me feel real uneasy.

"We are compromised. Stay alert. Be careful, Rossy and the pack." My brother's voice comes through the walkie-talkie. "Copy," I say. "We got action from the lotus pack," Grayson says. "Stop talking. Stop making noise. Stop breathing," I respond.

Jacob quickly climbs up the same tree I am in. "Raine said, not to trust anyone. Does this include them? His mom was your mom's best friend, and we have known them our whole lives." I nod. "He said every one. Shhh. They're here," I put my finger up to my mouth to silence him.

"Alpha Axel, there's no sign of anyone. Why is no-one covering the front?" someone asks him. They haven't spotted us. Some wolves can feel heartbeats, but we might be too high up for that.

"Let's go in," another man says. I wish they dared to take one more step.

They do.

"Take one more step and I will blow your brains out," I jump off the tree and land perfectly right in front of Axel. Jacob and the rest all jump out of the trees. I point my rifle straight at their Alpha. Besides me knowing them, nothing about him or his people says they are allies. Raine said I would know.

"Rosslyn," Axel says. "Turn back around and leave. I don't want to k1ll you," my heart is racing. I have never k1lled anyone, and I don't want to k1ll Axel. I have the biggest crush on him, and he was so helpful today, but what if it was all a front to get me to trust him? I will k1ll if I have to protect the pack. Was all of his attention a set-up? Was his plan this whole time to attack us? K1ll us? Raine didn't specify having to let him in, so I decide to handle it.

I become annoyed when he chuckles. "This isn't a laughing matter, Alpha. Go on, leave," I shout. He doesn't move, and now his men are laughing at me too. I look at Jacob and the rest of my gang, and I nod. Every single one lifts their rifle up and points it at one of his men. "Woah, Rossy," Jacobs steps forward. "It's Rosslyn to you. Have some respect!" Axel's wolf clearly doesn't like the disrespect. He comes forward and growls. I step in front of Jacob. "Go," He just stares at me.

All of a sudden, more people start showing up from the right side. It's my aunt's pack. Her mate comes with his pack. They stop at the gate. "Rosslyn," he nods and flashes one of mom's bracelets. That's what Raine meant. I nod for them to go in.

"What the f*ck Rossy. Why did they get to go in, and my pack can't?" I point my rifle at Axel again. "I'm not going to tell you again, Alpha."

"Just shift and k1ll her," one of his men says. I step closer, the rifle still pointed at him. "Last chance," I swear, his pack is putting a target on us. They are going to get us k1lled. Nobody moves, so I shoot him in the foot. One of his men lunges for me, and Jacob shoots him. "Stand down. No-one better put a hand on her," Axel orders his men. "That's what I thought," I say. "Fine, we will leave, but, Rossy, I am not your enemy," he says before they retreat.

This time, I decide to stay right at the front gate. I'll be damned if someone else comes here, trying to enter and disrespect me again. I do not like being disrespected or humiliated.

Alpha Axel

She f*cking shot me. My wolf chuckles. "Alpha, we need to heal you," Boris tells me. "It's fine. It doesn't hurt," I say. "I can't believe she shot you. Why didn't you k1ll her?" I smirk. "I am about to tell you all something, but you all have to give me your word that it won't be repeated. If anyone finds out, that's your head," they all bow their heads. "Yes, Alpha," I nod. "Rosslyn is your future Luna, so she can do whatever she wants, so Gerico, this is the last time you ever disrespect her or mention her and the word k1ll in the same sentence." Gerico steps forwards. "My apologies, Alpha. I will do better next time," I dismiss them once we get to the pack. I limp to my room and my restroom. I check out my foot, and I don't need a Dr. "Just shift. She knew where to shoot not to hurt you. She's amazing," my wolf tells me. He is so proud of her.

I head outside and shift and it instantly heals me. I decide to do some snooping on my own though. I run around the perimeter. I get to where the two packs meet. I smell the rogues immediately. I don't even care or wait. I jump into action. Raine knows I am not a threat. I jump the gate and get to k1lling these mother*ckers that are like an infection to the world. Rogues are a threat to our packs. They come in, k1ll and destroy everything and everyone.

I grab one that jumps in front of me by the neck and am only satisfied when I hear the crack. This fuels me. They all must die. I don't want them anywhere near my mate. I see three on Raine, so I grab one and shove it off him and go for the k1ll. I turn and his wolf nods. I knew he wouldn't have a problem with me being here. We work together and get the job done. Once the last rogue is k1lled, we all shift, and they get to work burning the bodies. "Thanks bro. I owe you one." I shake his hand.

Clothes are thrown at all of us, and we walk back towards the front of the pack once Raine leaves everything secured. My heart nearly leaps out of me when I see Rosslyn standing by the front gate all alone. "Why are you exposing yourself like this?" I say. Raine looks at me and lifts an eyebrow, but he turns to her. "What he said," she looks at me. "Didn't I just shoot you? What are you doing with my Alpha?" I smirk, and I can tell it pisses her off, so I try to fix my face.

"I returned to help. Like I said, I am not your enemy," I even bow to show her I am not a threat. Raine's eyes widen and I think I made it clear. "She shot you?" I smile, and nod proudly. The only person who has the balls to f*ck with me is my 16-year-old mate. She is so brave and I can't wait to see how much more she grows. She is f*ck1ng badass already. My pack and I are so f*ck1ng lucky.

"f*ck1ng Hialrious" my wolf is having a ball making fun of me. "My bad bro, I gave her orders not to trust anyone or let anyone in. Rossy was just doing what she was asked," Raine tells me. Rosslyn just watches me. She looks down at my foot before she walks away.

" my wolf tells me.

"She's going to be a problem, and I can't wait to see it play out. I just know she is going to make us go through it, and I can't wait!" My wolf tells me.
