Chapter 18

Alpha Raine

Axel brought his father and their advisor over today. They have been helping me go through all of dad's legal documents for the last couple of hours. He really screwed the pack. He continued to take money out, but didn't have anything to show for it. He must have wasted it with or on his mistress. There's no other answer.

I'm just thankful that people with more experience are willing to help me. I wish my aunt and her husband were here to help me, but their pack needed them back home. I will always be grateful for the help they did provide.

They are being extremely generous, and I know it is only because of Rossy. I notice how Axel is acting. Everytime footsteps approach or walk by my office door, his eyes go straight to the door. I think his wolf wants to see her. I check the time, amd she should have been home a long time ago. She normally picks up Raze from grandma and comes say hi before she goes upstairs to do her homework or whatever else she does before dinner. Today, she hasn't came, and it's almost dinner time. She probably knows I am in a meeting and respected it enough not to interrupt.

We come up with a reasonable plan, where all of the debts get paid off, and now I will only owe him money. I am going to have to meet with my beta and gamma tonight so we can figure out how to get strawberries out faster. We need to be making more money. My sister's idea of making jam is so far the best. We will have to see what else can be made and sold.

My phone rings and I see grandma is calling me. "Excuse me, gentlemen," I stand up and take the call. "Hello," I say. "Raine, I tried mind linking you, but you have a block up. Can you tell Rosslyn to come pick Raze up. My legs are really hurting today. He has been fussy all day today. I have had to carry him and I am exhausted." Where the h3ll is my sister? "What do you mean, grandma. Rosslyn should have picked him up hours ago. Where is she?" I ask. I send a link to my beta and gamma asking them if they needed her for anything. "I thought she was at home, helping you with the pack." I sigh. "I will check her bedroom and get back to you." I hang up.

"Is everything okay with Rosslyn?" Axel is up and out of his seat. Panic written all over his face. "Let me go find her," I leave the room, but he is on my a$$, and so is his dad. "Is everything okay?" I nod. "Why don't you guys wait here. Let me go get her," I hurry upstairs.

"Rosslyn, Rosslyn," I shout. I knock on the door, but her room is empty. I don't feel anything coming from the other side. I open her door and she isn't here. I check her desk and closet incase she left a note, but nothing. I go to Raze's room, nothing. I walk around the top floor, but she isn't here. I call her phone, but it goes straight to voicemail. My wolf begins giving me his opinions. With Solaman out there, Rossy shouldn't be out by herself. I text her, but no reply. I link my men to meet me downstairs.

"She's not here." I tell Axel and his dad. My men walk in and bow their head. "Alpha, "

"Has anyone seen Rosslyn?"

"No, Alpha. Miss Rossy has not come home from school. Neither has Jacob," I pull out my phone and dial his number. Straight to voicemail. "What the f*ck. Where the f*ck are they? Call the school." I link my beta and his wife to find their son.

"My men are on the way. We will find her." Axel gets on his phone and starts pacing back and forth.

Rosslyn

"Alright guys. That was the last customer. Time to clean up so we can go home." Mario teaches us how they clean the dining room, bar and outside areas. He also teaches us what to do with the cash at the end of the night, and how he wants us to close up shop. We work together and get it done quickly.

"Here is everyone's envelopes with their tips given upon payment, and the tips the crew splits. Remember Rosslyn and Jacob that anything handed to you is for you to keep." He tells us. He hands me my envelope. "Thank you," he smiles kindly. "No, thank you. You two did amazing, and we are so glad to have you on our team. We will see you both tomorrow. Be ready to work. We are busy everyday." He says.

"Lets go, Rossy. We have to catch the last ferry." I wave and we make our way to the terminal. "How much did you make?" Jake asks me. I open the envelope and there's $225.00 and I take out the tips from my pocket. Another 200. "$425.00, what about you?" He opens his envelope and it's the same amount, but he has less in his own tips. "369.00. I know you made more, because you are a girl." I flip him off. "Or, I am a better employee than you." He chuckles. "It's cause you are pretty. Plus a lot of the customers were men. I saw the looks you got all afternoon," that's gross.

We hear the last call for the ferry, and we take off running. We barely make it on. I pull my phone out, but realize it's dead. It's late. "I didn't even tell Raine I was going to look for a job today. I honestly didn't think we would find jobs or be here this late." Jake nods. "We will let him and my parents know so they know we will be gone daily from now on." I remind myself that it's all for the pack. I just hope grandma can still help with my baby brother. He is who I worry about the most.

"Handing all of this money over is going to suck. Are you sure you don't want to keep some?" I shake my head. "The faster we settle the debts, the better. Eventually I'll be able to keep my money and buy myself and Raze things."

We sit outside and watch the water. It's such a calm feeling. "I don't think you will be seeing any money for years, Rossy. My dad was whispering to mom that the pack is in a deep hole." That completely deflates me. "Yeah, but it's okay. I'll do anything to help Raine. He didn't deserve to take over as Alpha and inherit such big debts. It isn't fair to him." He looks back at the water. "It isn't fair to you either, or to the pack. You dad really f*cked us good." I nod. What else can I say? He is right.

The walk home sucks. It still takes us over 30 minutes to get home, but we finally arrive at the gates and we see a lot of movement. "What's going on?" I ask Pablo at the front gate. "Miss Rosslyn. Alpha Raine and Alpha Axel sent out a search party for you and Jacob. I already mind linked him that you have arrived." Jake and I look at eachother. Guilt consumes me. I should have communicated my plans with him, but it all happened so fast and I had the best intentions.

I see Raine rushing my way. Axel right behind him. Neither looks happy.

"Rosslyn, where the f*ck have you been?" Raine shouts. "Calm down, Raine. Your coming off very strong." His eyes blaze. "Where the f*ck have you been? I have been so worried about you. Why didn't you notify anyone of your whereabouts?" He is still shouting. "Sorry, my phone died." I feel my face heating up. Axel is watching my brother freak out on me. This is so embarrassing.

"Your phone died. Your f*cking phone died. Is that all you have to say for yourself?" I am so confused. "Did something happen? Did you need me to do something? I don't understand why you are so angry right now." I swear he f*cking growls. "I need to k ow where you are at all times. You don't run sh1t here, Rosslyn. You answer to me, and you have to do as I say." I have no idea what got into Raine. He has never spoken to me this way. It really pisses me off, and I do not want tocbe rude or disrespect him in front of people. Especially people from other packs.

"You're tripping, Raine. I'll speak to you when you calm down and stop yelling at me." I start to walk by him, but he grabs my arm. "You don't run sh1t here, Rosslyn. You don't make the rules. You don't tell me what to do." His guards walk closer and two grab me. "Hey, let me go. What the f*ck, Raine." Even Axel looks surprised. He steps forward and tries to talk sense into Raine. "Is this really necessary? She's right. You can talk later." Raine shakes his head. "No, she had both of us waste time and resources. She will sleep in the cells tonight so she knows to never do this ever again." His guards begin dragging me. "No, stop. Let me go. Raine. Raine. What the f*ck, Raine." I swear this is the most humiliating thing anyone has ever done to me. Even my dad kept his abuse inside our home. I feel stup1d doing my best to help just to get treated this way.

Alpha Axel

My wolf is raging. He is pissed off. He wants to beat the f*ck out of Raine, and frankly, I do too, but that could result in me losing access to my mate. "All of that wasn't necessary. You can't treat her that way." He looks so mad, but she's here now. She is safe.

"Look, I know you feel differently, but she needs to learn. You will thank me for getting her in check later." He tells me.

"What about me?" Jacob says. "Jake, shh," his father steps forward and smacks his head. "No, dad. Rossy didn't do anything wrong, and if she is being punished for going to get a job to help the pack, then I should be punished as well." He says. "You got a job?" His dad asks. He nods. "Rossy has been so worried about helping Raine, and I want to help you, mom, and the pack as well. We both found jobs. Rossy actually found 2 jobs. She now has a weekday job and a weekend job as well. Our phones died because we haven't been home since this morning. We weren't trying to go against anyone. We were just trying to help. We didn't know we were going to get hired this fast. Rosslyn literally talked them into hiring us on the spot. They let us to start today. She made almost $500 in tips and was so excited to come and give them to you. Here is what I made." He hands it to his dad.

"I'll take my punishment now." This guy puts his hands out like he's being arrested. He can't be f*cking serious? Did he say 2 jobs? My mate is not going to be working 2 jobs. Everyone here must have lost his mind. Starting with that dead motherf*cker for leaving her in such a desperate position.

"Raine, go get her," he shakes his head "F*ck no. I f*cked up bad. You go get her. Calm her down for me." I will gladly do that. I nod and make my way to his cells.

"She's crying," my wolf tells me. We can feel her anger through the mate bond.
