Chapter 20

1698 Words
Alpha Axel I receive a mind link from one of my guards at the front door that there is action. Apparently Imani is going at it with someone from Raine's pack out front, infront of everyone arriving to the festival. My wolf catches my mates scent on my way there, and we are thrilled she is already here. My wolf has been so anxious, thinking she wasn't coming. We want to take her and baby Raze throughout all of the festival. I want my pack to get used to her presence at all times. I suddenly feel rage through the mate bond that I forget all about Imani and go find Rosslyn. To my surprise, it's Rosslyn who Imani is fighting with. "What's going on here?" I won't lie and say I don't feel proud that my 16 year old mate has my 20 year old beta's daughter on the floor, standing on her neck, but I am also embarrassed that my beta's daughter can't protect herself better. "Rossy, can you please let go of Imani," she removes her foot and Imani jumps up. "You stup1d b1tch." She tries to attack Rossy, so I step in and push her back. "Watch yourself," is all I say, but my wolf stepping forward has her stepping back. Her parents arrive asking what happened. "Oh my goodness, Imani, where is your tooth?" That's when we all notice the blood in her mouth and her missing front tooth. Jacob high fives Rosslyn, and honestly I wish I could to, but I don't want to disrespect the people in my pack and rock the boat. Raine's betas are with them, whispering to eachother. I have to get to the bottom of this. "So, who is going to tell me what happened?" Imani jumps on me. "This girl came here, saying rude things about our pack, then she attacked me out of nowhere. I didn't even do anything to her. Make her leave the pack and the festival right now." Imani stomps her foot on the ground like a child as she points at Rosslyn. I watch Rosslyn stand up straight and cross her arms. My beta, Armin shows up. I mind link him to control his sister. "Imani, who the f*ck do you think you are to tell me what to do? Who is the Alpha here? You or me?" Her eyes widen and she begins to stutter. "But, but, but. I'm your pack member. You have to take my side." I shake my head. "I don't have to do sh1t. I want to know what happened here," her mom steps in. "Axel, whatever happened here, I am sure it was this girl's fault. Just look at her. She looks like a trouble maker. You know my baby girl doesn't mess with anyone." I am losing my patience here. Rosslyn doesn't say anything, but I can feel her disgust through the mate bond when she looks at me and my pack members. "Rossy, why did you hit her?" She rolls her eyes. "Because she deserved it," Armin steps forward. "You hit my sister, because she deserved it or because you wanted to." Rossy taps her chin. "Both," she says. "Well that just does it. You see Axel, this little girl is disrespectful." Rossy looks like she is studying me. "Do you let everyone call you by your first name? It seems like no-one in your pack respects your authority," she is right. I think I have been to lenient with my pack memembers. "Ohhh, burn. A 16 year old is setting you straight." My wolf loves this sh1t. "Imani, what the f*"ck happened here. Don't make me use my Alpha command." She begins crying. "Alpha, I was present and witnessed everything." Raine's beta steps forward. "This girl came out of nowhere and verbally attacked Rosslyn. She made horrible remarks about her mother and taunted her about her mother's death. Going as far as tonsay that Luna Brainy dewerved what happend to her. This girl is lucky that Rosslyn doesn't have a wolf yet, or her gun on her. Otherwise she would be planning a funeral," Armin growls. I put my hand up. "Shut the f*ck up." I tell him. "Imani, step forward and repeat what you said to Rosslyn," Imani cries harder. "Axel, you can't believe these people. They are lying. Imani would never speak on anyone's mother. Especially a dead person. You know her better than anyone." Her mother comes tocher defense. I don't miss the face Rosslyn makes when she says that. I feel her deflate inside too. "This is disgusting to watch. I'm leaving. If you have a problem with any of this. Take it up with my Alpha." She turns around, grabs Raze and says she is going home. "Rosslyn, wait. I personally invited you here. Let me make this up to you." She shakes her head. "I'm not interested in anything that has to do with you or the people you surround yourself with. I thought differently of your pack, but after what I saw today at school and now here, I can tell you all aren't good people, and I don't want anything to do with cruelty." She looks at Imani "or weakness," and she turns back around. "What do I have to do to get you to change your mind and stay for the festival?" My beta places a hand on my shoulder. "Axel, are you really begging her?" I turn around and grab him by the throat. "What did I say about questioning me? Have you all lost your f*cking minds? Guards," my men at the front door step closer. "Lock up the whole beta family,," they begin protesting, but my men grab them all. Imani is shouting all kinds of things at Rosslyn, who just chuckles. "Ruthless and toothless," my wolf is having a ball. "She is so quick with her replies. She's so damn funny." I agree. She is. Once they are gone, I step closer and apologize again. "Thank you for setting me straight. I am going to have a pack meeting. Things will be changing around here. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. Please tell me you will stay. My mom really wants to see you, amd Amerie will be sad if you don't stay." She bites her lip. "Well, I should make sure Amerie is alright. Okay, but just for a little bit, and if anything like this ever happens again, I will just be done with your whole pack for good. I am in a peaceful place in my life. I don't have time for nonsense." I nod and escort her in. "I pull her to the side at the entrance and ask her to tell me her side real quick. She does and I am so embarrassed. Why the f*ck would Imani say these things to her? All I can do is keep apologizing. The whole time she is tense, doesn't enjoy herself and has her guard up. It f*cking sucks. This day isn't going as I planned, but I still take her around to all of the stands and introduce her and bring her and Raze to the animal exhibit where she seems happier to be. I leave the flowers as our last stop, because they are magical and it's a must see at night. Her eyes sparkle with excitement when she sees them. "Here, let me cut some for you," only I am allowed to cut the flowers here. I hear the murmers of people when they see me cut them and give them to Rosslyn. I think about backing off, but my wolf says no. He feels like there's already a target on her back and me being near doesn't let others hurt her. "It's getting late. We have to go," her soft voice says the worst thing ever. "Let me walk you home," she looks conflicted. "You don't have to. You really don't need to feel sorry for me, Axel. I can defend amd protect myself." I frown. "I don't feel sorry for you," her sandals dig into the ground. She bites her lip like she is holding sick from saying something. "What is it?" "Are you sure you didn't tell your pack you felt sorry for me and are only nice to me because my mom was murdered?" I stare at her in horror. "No. I would never say that. Why would you even think that?" She relaxes a little bit. "I don't think that. Imani said that to me. It confused me, because you're the one always bothering me, but she was so sure of it, so I thought you might be telling your pack something different. I don't need you or anyone feeling bad for me. I don't even feel bad for myself. This is life, amd all we can do is keep it pushing." Imani is going to get it. How dare she put words in my mouth amd make me look bad infront of my mate. I absolutely hate the way Rosslyn is looking at me right now. "There you are, Rossy," I watch as her whole body lightens up and she smiles. Not at me, but at f*cking Jacob. "I'm ready to go," she nods. "Don't worry, Axel, Jacob will get me home." I just nod and let them walk away. I don't want to seem like a crazy, possessive freak, but I watch her until she turns into her pack and eventually disappears. I link my parents. "Meet me in the cells. Your precious betas have some explaining to do," I cut the link and head over there. I try to calm my wolf down, because he is ready to take a whole family out for upsetting my mate. I told Armin I don't play about her, and I told him to control his sister, and I hate repeating myself. After this, they will be the example I use infornt of my whole pack so everyone can get through their head who their Alpha really is. It's time to whip this pack up to be something Rossy will be proud to be apart of.
