"How could it have anything to do with me?" I threw the question back at Hannah directly.
Saying that, I reached out and took a tissue from the side, wiped the corner of my lips, and continued asking, "What did they say about me online?"
Although I hadn't checked, I knew for sure that people were criticizing me on the internet when Emily suddenly blurted out that sentence this afternoon.

I knew deep down that I had nothing to do with Lily's wrist-cutting incident, but on the internet, the truth would be easily concealed.
As soon as Hannah heard what I said, the anger that had just subsided flared up again. "I can't stand this! Now everyone online is saying that you drove Lily to do that!"
