Ann Marie The next day, he came to get me. We walked and talked some more. He reached out and held my hand. We stopped at the community kitchen and got lemonade. We went to a fire pit and looked at the stars. The following weeks, we walked nightly. We held hands. He danced with me under the stars. He visited me in the shop and watched me work. I started eating dinner with him at the community kitchen instead of at the women’s place. Sometimes the girls ate with us, but most of the time they gave us space. One night we were walking behind the woodshop when he suddenly stopped and turned to me. “Ann, I’m going to kiss you.” “Okay,” I whispered. He cupped my face in his big hands and leaned down to me. We kissed. It started soft and searching. Then it grew bolder and hotter. His hands went into my hair. He led me back to the shop, where I bumped against the wall. He leaned down more and lifted me under my thighs, pinning me against the shop. We kissed. His hands kneaded my backside. My breath hitched, and I brought us chest to chest. His lips left mine, and he pressed his forehead to mine. We breathed in each other's breaths. “Damn, girl. You’re making me lose control.” I giggled. His eyes flashed. “You’re my girl now, Ann Marie, you hear? You don’t let any man come near you.” “You’re my boyfriend?” I asked. I needed the clarification. “Yes. If you need a label, I’m your boyfriend, and you’re my girlfriend.” From that night on, we were dating. Months went by. He would pick me up from the shop after his shift, or from the women’s place, and we would walk or go eat. We went on a few supply runs together to get out of the commune and had ice cream. He would bring me wildflowers. He got me a new carving knife with a pearl handle. He got me a thick scarf for the cold winter nights. “You’re the best thing to ever happen to me, Ann. I love you,” he said one night during one of our walks. “I love you too, Brody.” Eight months after the dance, he got down on one knee in the community kitchen in front of everyone and asked me to marry him. I said yes. On my 20th birthday, Brody planned a meal with Martha. She helped him bake me a cake. It was lopsided, but I loved it because he did it. Afterward, he took me to a secluded field. He brought a thick comforter and laid it on the ground. He had two mason jars and a bottle of wine. “I know you aren’t 21, but I won’t tell if you don’t,” he said with a grin. I giggled and nodded. An hour later, I was tipsy. We were making out, and I felt him unbutton my top. He pulled back and looked me in the eyes. “I wanna make love to you, Ann.” I nodded, and he undressed me and then himself. He was gentle as he kissed down my neck and latched onto my right breast. I inhaled sharply and arched up into him. He let out a groan when I wrapped my legs around him and his hardness rubbed between my p***y lips. He shifted and pushed into me. I wasn’t nearly as ready as I could be, but he didn’t seem to notice. He kept pushing. I relaxed my muscles and inhaled sharply as he settled in. “God, you’re so tight. Am I your first?” He wasn’t. But I wasn’t going to tell him that I had been r***d for two years before I ran. “Yes,” I gasped when he pulled out and shifted forward again. “You’re mine,” He growled. He picked up his thrusts. I tightened my legs and arms around him and held on. I got wetter the more he went on, and it started to feel good. I moaned. “Yeah, baby. I’m going to c*m, Ann. c*m with me.” I’ve never cummed in my life. I wouldn’t even know how to do that. He suddenly stiffened and groaned in my neck, so I made a noise and squeezed him tight with my muscles. He groaned louder and shuddered. “f**k, Ann, you’re the best I’ve ever had. I love you.” He kissed my eyes and my lips, then rolled off me. We lay there, the night's warm air cooling our heated skin. He rolled towards me and propped his head on his hand. “Was it good for you?” he asked, grinning. I gave him a lazy smile. “Perfect,” I said. For all I knew, it was. It did feel good, and it had never felt good before. Six weeks later, I was late. I went to Mitzy in a panic. “Mitz, I haven’t had my period this month.” “Oh, s**t. Come on.” We went to Martha. She took me to the medical building and got me a test. I took it in the community bathroom. I brought it to Martha, and she set it down on a plastic bag. We all stared at it. Three minutes later, two pink lines appeared. “Well, you’re pregnant.” I knew Brody was at the gate. I walked toward it nervously. My heart was hammering wildly. When I got there, he looked over and smiled. “Hi, my Pretty Ann.” “Brody, I need to talk to you.” “Alright. Are you okay?” I nodded. He told Darren, his security buddy, that he was taking a five-minute break. We walked over to a tree and stood in the shade. “What’s wrong, Ann?” “I’m pregnant.” He looked at me, stunned for 30 seconds, then his face broke into a huge grin. He whooped, picked me up, and twirled me around. “A baby. Oh my God. We’ve only had s*x once. Damn, you’re a baby maker. That’s awesome. We’ll get married sooner rather than later. I need to save up a little more money, but we’ll definitely get married soon.” I smiled and nodded.
