Eden’s pov:
“Happy to see you two get along well.” It was only once I saw the gleam in Luna Emily’s eyes that I realized my mistake.
“Oh my God!” I cried out, startling, as if I had been burnt, my cheeks completely aflame, “I am so sorry.”
“For what?” She asked, a small smile stretching her lips.
That smile made me want the ground to open up and swallow me whole.
“I shouldn’t have… I overstepped,” I tried to explain in haste. “I am so sorry.”
“He’s not complaining, is he?” She shrugged, her smile broadening.
I turned to see Hunter’s gaze trained on me, his eyes seemingly searching my face for answers… answers to which questions, I wasn’t sure, and I didn’t have the courage to ask.
