I was still standing stunned by his sudden change of mind when he turned and walked to his car, driving off. Finally pulling out of my shock, I closed the door choosing to plop on the couch. I was barely sitting when the door burst open, an excited expression playing on Lilly’s face.
“Was that Devon? What did he want?” she questioned sitting next to me, letting her bags of shopping fall on floor with a slight thud.
“Yes, thanks to you for bailing out on me,” I smiled sarcastically.
“You are welcome,” someone failed a sarcasm quiz.
“I was being sarcastic Lilly,” I stated, rolling my eyes in disbelief.
“Okay, what did I do wrong?” she asked as if it wasn’t so obvious already.
“You were supposed to pick me up after my meeting with Devon. Does that ring a bell?” I asked.
