She shot to her feet so fast the tray on her lap clattered to the floor.
She couldn’t do this. Her breath came fast and shallow.
“I don’t….” she trailed off as a lump formed in her throat. She wanted to run away and save herself from this…this… whatever it was he was doing.
Why was he doing this to her? Couldn’t he just let her be?
Naledi calmed herself. She needed to get out of that room.
“Will you need anything else?” Naledi asked bending down to gather up the tray and other things. She hoped not, she couldn’t spend another second in his presence. Anthony looked at her like he wanted to say something. She clenched her teeth praying he would let her go. She couldn’t be in his presence anymore without… without spilling her guts and throwing herself at him.
