Naledi stared at him as he walked through the door leading to the inner rooms of the house. His pants and shoes left a wet trail in his wake. He stopped in the hallway and motioned for her to follow him. Naledi’s felt a nervous energy swirl in her stomach. She remained rooted on the spot, her fingers going cold from the wet clothes she clutched in her hands. She couldn’t. He stared at her for the longest moment and Naledi noticed the moment his face became hard and strange. She couldn’t recognize the man who stood before her. Naledi flinched taking an involuntary step back. He stood there staring down at her like she was nothing.
