I felt my back tense as I listened to Lety.
"Elizabeth?" I asked, stopping everything I was doing to give my assistant my full attention.
"Yes, Aithana's secretary, that sweet girl," she said with a smile. "Came to look for you, but for obvious reasons she had to leave. I offered her an appointment with you."
Something I couldn't describe bubbled up in my chest. Her coming was not something I would have expected, but this was the opportunity I had been waiting for.
"There will be no need for an appointment. I will go to her directly," I told Lety, standing up.
"Where are you going?" she asked, confused, taking a step forward.
