CHAPTER TWELVE Luke had always assumed that when he got married, his wife would be, well, around. He’d see her in the morning before they went to work. He’d see her in the evenings when they came home. They’d spend weekends together, or at least a few hours sitting together binge-watching some TV show. But despite having gotten married two weeks ago, Luke barely saw Jocelyn. She was up at the c***k of dawn, and she came home by nine or ten p.m. She was either working or seeing her dad.
