Maya was sitting on the balcony when I stepped outside. She looked like she wanted to throw herself into the sea just to get away from me.
Too bad.
“We are going out today,” I said.
She did not even turn her head. “Out? Where?”
“Sightseeing.”
“I am fine here.”
I stepped closer. “We are going. Together.”
Her jaw clenched. “I do not want to be around you.”
I shrugged. “That is too bad. We are still doing it.”
She finally looked at me. “You drag me here. You ignore me for days. Then suddenly you want to spend time together.”
“That is how a honeymoon works,” I said.
She gave me the deadliest look. “This is not a honeymoon. It is a hostage situation.”
“You are dramatic,” I said, grabbing my sunglasses. “Get dressed.”
