Jesse was balancing a tray of coffee and holding a bag of pastries when she stepped off the elevator and came face to face with Cam Torres. “Camden Torres,” Jesse eyed him trying to push her anger down. He was not the enemy, contrary to Artemis’ rage at him right now. “Considering what you did to Deke over a phone, I’m willing to bet you want my balls.” His green eyes stared at her earnestly. If she didn’t know better, he wanted her to punch him. She found herself recalling every single time she’d gotten into trouble with her mother and how she would rather have faced a firing squad than tackle it head on. The fact he was in front of her, ready to apologize and take ownership of his mistakes, made her appreciate this much more. He was going to be a wonderful grandfather to her nephew. J
