"Shouldn't you call the police or something?"
Mia and I both look at the kid like he's crazy. He returns the same look. "You had an accident. You should report it."
"Oh, right," Mia says, taking the phone from me. "I'll do that now."
I can't see what Mia's doing with the phone, but I know her well enough to know that she's got something up her sleeve. After a couple of minutes, she puts the phone up to her ear.
"This is Mia Rhodes and I've been reported missing. I'm in Pensacola and Veronica Rogers is trying to-"
Before Mia gets her words out, there's a knock on the door. I put my hand up to stop the boy from answering it, but he only gives me a questioning look and walks right past me.
