Although dinner had turned out to be a rather odd experience, I hadn’t been anywhere near able to deny the fact that it was still pleasant. Yes, there had been more than enough reason for things to be tense, or difficult, but that wasn’t the way that things worked out, and for that I was thankful.
Dae and I didn’t bother speaking any further to one another as we made our way to the dining room, and although it had been difficult to endure the silence at the time, looking back, it had been for the best. Who would have known what the two of us would have ended saying to one another, and even so, we might have ended up upsetting one another even further in doing so. But that wasn’t something that I wasn’t going to dwell on for now.
