She stood there in a thin white dress; I could see nothing beneath the almost sheer fabric from here. Her feet were b.are, and her hands were t.ied behind her. Over her eyes was a matching white b.lindfold.
The air was thick with her fear, even from this far away.
I walked as quietly as I could, and when I got close enough, I whispered, “Amber?” She started shaking, and I paused in my steps. “You’re okay, Amber. I’m here to help you,” I explained gently.
She tensed. It took a moment for her to relax, and I didn’t want to rush her, but I was unsure how much time we had.
“I’m going to untie you now, and then I’ll get you safely out of here into the woods,” I told her as I stepped closer.
I made my steps loud so she could hear where I was coming from until I was behind her. I untied her
