Chapter 29
The shock hadn't worn off when we walked back to the Tree for dinner. Each step I took, plants would sprout out from under my feet. Bass and I spent the majority of the day learning how to control my new found abilities. I still didn’t fully know how it works, only that it’s mostly controlled by my emotions. At one particular part of the afternoon, Bass decided to lean close until his mouth was a mere breath away from my neck.
Needless to say, I got too excited and accidentally launched myself into the air when a rogue fully grown tree shot up from where I was standing. Bass had to catch me before I fell into the hard ground.
It was very embarrassing.
Lux runs out of the bright lit Tree in panic. He scans the area until his eyes fall upon us. “Guardian!”
