I felt so proud of myself when Rayden agreed to help that I couldn’t help smiling. I know it was down to Ares, and the fact he had spoken so intimately to me knowing Rayden would hear, but I was still proud. I imagined this was the feeling that fighters had when they won against an opponent they had no business fighting, let alone beating. To me, that is what Rayden symbolized. He was the first obstacle I had to tackle with Ares, but we managed to show him that we belong together and convince him to help us, too.
