Alex threw herself into work in order to avoid thinking about her personal life. Felicity had been staying with Gwen for two weeks now, and Alex didn't know if she'd ever return. Of course, Felicity was too responsible to stop paying rent. When Alex came home to find an envelope with a check under the door from Felicity, she had the urge to go straight to Gwen's and get this situation resolved.
As the holidays approached, the bookstore usually saw a nice uptick in sales. Even better, Lila White's signing was scheduled for the beginning of December. Alex had finally confirmed a date and was now furiously pushing the news in the local press.
