"Wait you still haven't told me about what happened yesterday" Aunt Mena said looking at me eagerly "Really?" I asked giving him a blank stare "Yeah" She replied "And what is there to know about all that happened yesterday Aunt Mena?" I asked tugging at my hair playfully " Alot of things dear. Like how is Perry fairing? Did she later gain consciousness... stuffs like that" She said with a grin and pronouncing Perrie's name wrongly "Oh really?" I asked " Yeah or are they not things worth wanting to know?" She asked looking away "No I didn't say that. I'm just surprised by your show of interest that is all" I said steadily " Ok already. Just go straight to the point and tell me what I need to know girl" Aunt Mena gabbled wittingly " Oh alright ma'am" I said clearing my throat "Hey stop that Amanda! Be serious for once" Aunt Mena bellowed " Huh. I'm serious Aunt Mena. I was clearing my throat so that I can be able to talk better but look how you have ruined it" I sad soberly "Oh I'm sorry darling. I never knew you were being serious. I thought you were just playing around as usual." She apologized profusely " No I wasn't and for that I'm not going to tell you about what happened yesterday again" I said sternly " Common Amanda please it hasn't gotten to this" Aunt Mena said "Well it has and I meant it when I said I wasn't going to tell you about what happened again" I said stealthily, keeping a straight face "I'm sorry I was just kidding Amanda" Aunt Mena said pleadingly pouting her lips "Wow. It worked!. I got her" I exclaimed happily "Gosh I can't believe you allow me to waste my words on you. I should have known better" Aunt Mena muttered " Well I guess I just did. I got you again on this one" I replied laughing hysterically "Shush girl! It isn't funny so you just have to stop laughing already" Aunt Mena cautioned putting a finger against her lips "Oh really? But if you ask me I do say it's really funny to be honest with you" I said still roaring loudly with laughter " I'm glad no one asked for your opinion on this so keep quiet my dear friend" Aunt Mena sneered " Well if this be the case then I think it's high time I already left for my room since I guess you don't need my presence here anymore." I said, making to stand up "Hey, hey calm down dearie." Aunt Mena said in a cool voice, trying to pacify me "Calm down? What for exactly Aunt Mena?" I asked giving her a quizzical look " Where do you think you are going to when you haven't given me the summary of yesterday's events?" Aunt Mena asked with a smirk plastered on her face " What gist do I owe you when I'm no longer needed in this place?" I retorted "Well I didn't ask you to leave and I hope you aren't thinking I'm trying to make you stay back if you are then just forget it. I only want to remind you about the gist, once you are done giving me the gist then you can go to your room and have all the time to yourself" Aunt Mena blurted out giving me a shocker "I'm not telling you a thing, now deal with that" I replied, rolling my eyes "Ok then bye dear" Aunt Mena said while I stared at her quietly "Aren't you leaving for you room anymore huh?" Aunt Mena asked few seconds later but I didn't give her a reply, I just kept admiring the corners of the sitting room as my gaze swivelled around it. "Silly! I thought you were going to do your worse now that I asked you to go upstairs" Aunt Mena said teasingly "I never said I was going anywhere Aunt Mena" I replied with a smirk " Oh really, are you now trying to label me a liar?" Aunt Mena asked, chuckling " No I'm not Aunt Mena. Why would I try to do that in the first place?" I asked innocently " Well I don't know but you have to tell me what you were insinuating by that question?" Aunt Mena asked "Nothing really I was just trying to be a weirdo" I said winking at her "You never seems to amaze me Amanda like you are just so ridiculous" Aunt Mena said, holding her chest as she let out a chuckle "I'm not any of the things you mentioned Aunt Mena" I said giving her a cold stare " Fine I have heard you. Apologies your excellency" Aunt Mena said, snorting "Well I'll soon be going upstairs because I'm feeling sleepy already but then you have to gist me about the stuff I asked you earlier on" Aunt Mena said then yawned widely "Please pardon me oh giant blue whale of the red sea and spare my life" I teased as she yawned "Stop it Amanda." Aunt Mena replied laughing hysterically "What have I done? I was only begging for my life. Tell me if you were about to be swallowed by a whale won't you beg for your life to be spared as well?" I asked staring at her " Of course I would but there is no whale here or are you seeing an invisible one?" Aunt Mena asked "Don't tell me you didn't see the whale that opened it mouth just now?" I asked in shock "No I didn't" She replied "Well I did and it was about to swallow me up but didn't when I begged it to spare my life" "Wow that was kind of the whale. If I were it, I wouldn't waste a second to swallow you all up" Aunt Mena teased while I bursted into laughter "Wow are you this cruel?" I asked in surprise "Yeah I am even cruel than you may think" Aunt Mena said "Look at you. You probably thought you were smart but no I'm smarter" Aunt Mena added also joining in the laughter "Well I'm going to bed to get some rest since you don't want to give me my gist" Aunt Mena said standing up then rubbed her face repeatedly in a cyclic manner " I didn't refuse Aunt Mena. I was about telling you already" I said softly looking at her "Well it's no longer needed maybe some other time. Thank you so very much dear. I'm tired and need to rest badly" Aunt Mena said and walked away while I looked on till she silhouetted into the doorway. Left alone to myself. I began to think of what to do as boredom meticulously kept creeping in with every passing tick of the clock till my thoughts wandered towards Dad, Perrie and all the events that played out yesterday I wonder where he could be right now. Will be at work or some random place? Maybe he is still working on his car nothing else And then what about Perrie? Could she still be at the hospital? How was she able to cope throughout yesterday when we didn't return again. Why am I even worried about her in the first place. Dad said she was only trying to pull a stunt and was not hungry. I guess that could be true from the look of things judging from the way she had acted in my absence. I pray she never gets to come here again. And then what was I suppose to do with what I heard when I limped back to her ward yesterday. It all don't seems to be making any sense anymore. I just feel like alot of things needs to be uncovered. Dad haven't really told me about who the lady Perrie is and how they got to meet. What about Mum's sudden disappearance? there seems to be a whole lot of things to learn and unlearn and how did Perrie, a lady Dad claimed not to know from anywhere at first will suddenly be having a baby for him and it sounds cool huh? And what about her knowledge about Mum's sudden disappearance. I was sure not even a single relative of his know a thing about it but it baffles me how an outsider like Perrie knows almost everything about us. I'm now torn in between choosing to believe Mum's claims or pay deaf ears to her and just wait for Dad's explanation. But it is without a doubt that Perrie is a dangerous lady and Dad can't disagree but do all her biddings. Even though I try to ignore this gut feeling, I still can't hold it but to believe that Perrie has a hand in all that has happened since the last few weeks. Beginning with Mum, down to Aunt Mena's presence in the house. If not so, why would Aunt Mena be so keen on knowing what happened at the hospital? Besides that, Dad still haven't told me how he got to meet Aunt Mena before employing her as our housekeeper. I'll have to look for a way to wrap my head around all of these anyway. I was still lost in my thoughts when a hard knock sounded on the door and brought me out of it in a split second "I wonder who could be at door. It wasn't Dad of course. If it was him he do just walk in and not knock " I sighed then got up to answer the door "Yes hold on. I'm coming" I yelled as I approached the door and pulled it open "Where is that jerk of a man you call your father?" A voice thundered immediately the door flew open Of course just as I guessed right. It was nobody else but the dear Perrie. Speak of the devil and hear him comes. "Who are you and who are you looking for?" I asked disregarding her question as I stared at her "Oh wow Amanda you can't greet again right? I see anyway I didn't come prepared for you today. Now answer me where is your father?" She asked looking at me "Well just so you know Miss Jezebel, I don't greet or acknowledge strangers and as for my Dad you just called a jerk? Go over to the streets you will see him dishing out some morals to your Dad who is a heavy drug addict and pedophile" I sneered casting her a look of heavy disdain " Wow you now have the guts to talk back at me right don't you worry. I'll teach you a lesson you will live to remember all the days of your life you riff raff" Perrie retorted "Yes and I'll talk back at you again and again because this is my father's house and I decide the way I choose to talk a person. I would have agreed with you that I'm a riff raff but unfortunately it is coming from a classless dirty swine as you who was begotten for a cracker and ex convict sadly enough you don't know your true paternity as well" I replied and booing loudly " Why am I even exchanging words with a mere toddler as you. I have better things to do with my time" She said solemnly pausing briefly to take a look at the opposite direction " Hey you don't have to be shy ma'am nobody is watching us so you are safe and I promise you my word that I'll tell no ears about what just took place here" I said sarcastically "Well I wasn't shy so I don't need any of that. Thank you" She said calmly. Wow it seems like I have finally given her a taste of what I feel like in the tongue. Now she knows her place and won't misbehave with me next time "Oh I see. " I said winking at her as smiles arched from both ends of my cheeks "Now is your Dad at home?" She asked softly avoiding my gaze "What is it you want from him?" "Nothing. I just want to speak with him" She said "He isn't at home" I replied calmly "Oh alright then whenever he comes back tell him I came to see him" She said "Well ok but sorry to ask, haven't you seen him today?" I asked " Actually we did but that was in the morning" She replied after much hesitation "Oh really. Maybe you can come wait for him inside till he returns if its a matter of urgency" I suggested looking at her " Are you sure about that?" she asked casting a quick glance at me " Yeah I'm very sure" I said "Ok then let's go in" She muttered, waiting for me to go in first. I don't think I'm doing the right thing by allowing her stay in Dad's absence but of course she can't hurt me right? at least not in my own house. "Welcome to our humble abode please do feel very at home and make yourself comfortable ma" I replied with a quick bow as we entered the sitting room " Thank you Amanda you're such a darling" She said " Thank you and so you are ma" I said with a fake smile " Wow you don't mean it, do you?" She asked looking at me awkwardly " Of course I do. I won't be saying a thing if I don't mean it ma" I said convincingly while she smiled " Wow I'm humbled by your compliment. Thank you dear" She said beaming with smiles " You're welcome ma" I replied casually "Now what do I offer you? Juice? soda?wine? fruit?" I asked staring at her eagerly " No don't bother dear. I'm ok. I'll just wait for your Dad to come" She cooed then I frowned " Hey what is with the face? Few seconds ago you were basking in smiles" She asked looking at me "Nevermind ma. I'm ok. I guess it has to do with my mood swings." I said, letting out a short laugh "Oh you mean bipolar disorders?" asked "Yes ma" I replied "Alright sorry about that" She said "Thank you ma. Excuse me I'll be right back" I said and walked away Jeez, I never knew this psycho of a woman can be as sweet as this. If she had come like this in the first instance I would have perhaps being more nice to her. But somehow she needed to have a taste of her own medicine so she can be able to tell the taste and I guess she has already. Walking stealthily into the kitchen, I got a glass cup and then walked over to the fridge to a get a pack of juice. It won't be a bad idea to get her these anyway. Now let me go and get my visitor entertainment
