*School Dismissal*
"Tamara wait!" I yelled as I ran out of the class to catch up with her
"What happened?" She asked turning to face me as I approached her
"Why did you leave the class without even telling me?" I asked with a furrowed brow
"Where were your ears when I told you that I was leaving? " She scoffed
" In the open field I guess" I retorted
"Well… I see and you have gotten them back right?" she replied
" Hey don't be a nerd please" I sneered
"Guess what?" I asked turning towards Tamara as we walked out of the class after school closure
"What?" She said softly
" Hey I said guess girl. Now go ahead and guess Miss" I retorted
" Well maybe you got a new friend" she said stealthily
" A new friend?… Common you are so bad at guessing now try again" I said with a chuckle
"Well I at least I tried… so just tell me" she replied
" Well we got a new housekeeper over the weekend" I said excitedly
" Really? " She asked
"Yeah" I said
"Then I'm not so a bad guesser then" she said with a shrug
"Fine you aren't" I said as we walked in to the open field
" So where do we go wait for our parents now? " She asked
"Well over there" I said pointing towards the tree at the left side of the field
"Over there?" Tamara asked in confusion
" Yeah there. Is anything wrong with that place?" I asked as we paused, contemplating whether to go over there or not
"No I was wondering if we'd be able to notice when you Dad or mine drives in if we decide to stay there" she said softly
" Oh! That's true" I muttered
The tree was far beyond anyone's view from the gate so it may not be to good to stay over there except we want to give our parents a cause to worry whenever they come to pick us up.
"What do we do now?" I asked
"Well let's just go back to the class" she said
"No, the class is totally out of the question already. Let's just think of something else" I said
"Why?" She asked with a quizzical look on her face
"Well I don't know but I just know I don't want to go back in there again so think of another suggestion" I replied stealthily
"Ok. Then let's go to the parking space and wait there for them till they come" She said solemnly with a smile plastered on her face
" That is much more better" I said then we began to walk towards the parking space
We got to the parking space and saw that it was overcrowded with students waiting for their cars and parents to come pick them up but not wanting to clustered up in their midst, we made our way through the students and headed towards the other end of the parking space which was quite deserted and unrowdy
"At least I can get to breathe free air here" I said after letting out a sigh
"Yeah and also a better view of the school gate from here" Tamara added with a chuckle
" Oh so true." I stuttered, turning to also gaze at the gate as well
"So you were saying something" Tamara cooed and I turned to look at her direction
"Yeah and what was that again?" I asked, scratching my hair in order to recall
"You were talking about your new housekeeper you got over the weekend" Tamara whined
"Oh yeah… thank you" I said, giggling as I remembered
" So her name is Mena but I call her Aunt Mena" I said with a smirk
"Wow. Seems like you love this housekeeper of yours so much" She chipped in as she listened with rapt attention
" Yeah I do. I like her quite alot because she is beautiful, calm, caring and lovely" I said
" Wow that's great" she said
" Yeah…w" I said but paused when Tamara interrupted
"Hey girl. Is that not your Dad's car?" Tamara said pointing towards the white sport car driving into the school gate
"Oh yeah. You guessed right. How did you know that was my Dad's car?" I asked in surprise
" Well that is because I have seen you in it on several occasions" she cooed with a grin plastered on her face
" Oh I see. Smart girl" I teased
" Whatever just get going already" she retorted
"Okay by for now. See you tomorrow" I said blowing her a kiss as I made to walk towards the school gate
" Sure bye" she said
"Bye" I replied with a smirk then ran off towards the gate.
When I got to the other side of the parking space, the place was now also deserted as most of the students have gone and only a few were still hanging around.
"Good day Sir" I greeted Dad, with his back turned towards me and his gaze focused on the doorway leading to my class. Perhaps he thought I was still in class and will soon come out of the entrance.
"Hey Amanda" Dad said, turning to face me
"Yes Dad." I replied
"How are you?" Dad asked
"Fine Dad" I replied
"Oh ok. I was expecting to see you walk out of your class but didn't and instead came out from somewhere else" Dad said
" Yeah I was actually standing over there" I said pointing towards the other end of the parking space.
"We?" Dad asked perplexed with a quizzical look on his face.
"Yeah" I said
"Tamara and I were standing over there at the other end of the parking space" I added
"Oh I see. How was school today?" Dad asked
"Perhaps not too good neither too bad" I said
" I see let's just get going already I'm tired" Dad said and opened the car door
" Ok Dad" I said and shoved myself into the backseat after opening the door like a sack of grain.
"Hey put on your seatbelt please" dad said softly as he turned on the car engine.
"I was about to Dad" I retorted then fastened my seatbelt
"Well I'm sorry I thought you forgot" Dad said as we drove out of the school gate while I kept quiet and shut my eyes as I fought hard to keep myself from the sleep slowly clouding my eyes
"Seems like someone is really tired" Dad teased, peering intently at me through the rear mirror
"Yeah I'm feeling sleepy Dad" I replied feebly almost inaudible
" Well sorry sweetie you can go ahead and sleep while I drive we will soon be home" Dad said fondly then I drifted into sleep.
