Struck Rock Bottom

"Come to my office right now" Mr Derrick waffled into the telephone and quickly dropped it back on the desk

"When he comes he will take down everything I think will help us in getting this sorted out" He added and looked away.

Shortly after the door to his office flew open and a lanky man in corporate wears with a spectacle hung on the bridge of his nose walked in briskly and gave Mr Derrick a salute as he stood beside his desk not even acknowledging our presence.

"Easy... Please get this things documented at the CIO department and then come back later to get some other things I will be aiding you with." Mr Derrick instructed and gave back the parcel to him while the man nodded and walked away

"Tell them to get to work immediately. I want results nothing else but results. Is that clear?" Mr Derrick said in an authoritative tone as the man got to the door

"Yes sir" He replied, stopping abruptly before he continued to walk away

"Please do all you can to help me out Derrick. I do not want any harm to come close to my daughter and family" Dad said in a sober tone

"You have no need to worry. It was thoughtful of you to have come straight to the station and now that you have provided us with all we will be needing I assure you my boys will have everything under control. Do not be afraid your family is safe with us" Mr Derrick said reassuringly and smiled

" Ok then. Thank you so much we will be on our way now please just in case you will be needing any additional information regarding this matter, do not hesitate to contact us" Dad said and stood up from his seat

"Alright I will do that when the need arises" Mr Derrick said and I also stood up

"Ok sir. Bye for now" I said and walked away

"Sure bye for now dear" Mr Derrick replied and we walked out of his office hastily.

When we got outside it was already dark but light from light poles shielded us completely from darkness as we walked over to where our car was parked.

After Dad opened the car and we got inside he started the car and we drove off, heading for home.

We were fast approaching the house when the car jilted to a stop and with a sigh, Dad tried restarting the car but it engine wouldn't pick.

Resignedly, Dad came down from the car and flew the bonnet open to work on it before returning back to the driver seat to start the car but it still didn't pick.

So he closed it and sat back in the car.

"Dad what is wrong with the car this time?" I asked as I sat u

"Honestly dear, I just don't know. I thought it was just a minor fault but I'm not sure it is" Dad replied and sighed

"Now what do we do since it's late already?" I asked with concern written all over my face

"I don't know maybe we should just stay back and try it after sometime perhaps it will work out." Dad said

"Well that won't be necessary anymore sir" A musky voice waffled and a figure walked over to Dad's side window

Quite terrified I cringed and hid myself at a corner in the backseat and waited to see what was to unfold

"Who are you and what do you mean?" Dad asked slightly tilting his head

" You do not need to understand neither is my identity important Mr. Edwards so chill man all I want from you is your corporation" The voice added and opened the car door

"What are you saying? and how did you know my name?" Dad stuttered

" Stop annoying me with silly questions. How I got to know your name and my identity should be one of the least of your problems right now because what is coming ahead of you maybe too big for you alone" The man said then whispered some things into Dad's ears and Dad stepped out of the car

"Hey little girl come out and do whatever I instruct you to" Another figure walked over to my direction and said then opened the car door and dragged me out

"Please leave my daughter out of this she knows nothing about it." Dad said pleadingly

"Shut up and close that tiny hole on your face you call a mouth before I screw this thing I'm holding into your body" The other figure standing close to Dad yelled

"Everyone to that direction... Remember no silly games because if you try to play smart with me, consider yourself equally as dead. I just hope what I have just said is clear enough for you all to hear" The figure standing with Dad thundered and led Dad towards the car parked by the other side of the road while the other one followed me from behind as I walked to the car

"You get into the backseat" Another voice waffled from inside the car and stood still perturbed by his outburst

"Oh you want to be rough handled right? Kay drag her inside" The voice commanded and in a blink of an eye I was hurled into the front seat by some other guys

"Don't touch me I'll go inside myself" A voice I knew was certainly Dad's said and then entered the car and it zoomed off shortly after

Even though I could not make out the exact number of persons in the car since we were submerged in sheer darkness, I knew from the look of things that the men we allegedly up to 4 and making us a total of 6.

I was really afraid and didn't realize I have been sobbing for a while not until I struck on the head and told to stop crying.

But then I knew we were so helpless and nothing could be done to savage the situation as I tried to keep calm at least for a while because I soon bursted into another round of wailing as hot tears streamed off my eyes like a burst water pipe.
