“I’m bringing my girlfriend over for Thanksgiving dinner.”
My fork paused halfway to my mouth and I stared at Liam in disbelief when I heard those words leave his mouth.
We had just finished with our weekly family dinner and he announced it before anyone could leave the table.
My mother was the first to speak.
“You have a girlfriend now?” I didn’t miss the surprise in her voice.
Liam nodded proudly. “Yes, and I’m sure that you are going to love her. She’s a nice girl.”
I was too stunned to speak.
“Okay, I can’t wait to see the girl,” my father chimed in on the conversation.
“Since Landon doesn’t have a girlfriend to bring anymore, we will have dinner with Liam’s girlfriend,” my mother added.
