I didn't like the look or sounds of this and my hackles rose. Sadie glanced over her shoulder and gave a wry smile.
"You should go" she called back, as Chelsea reluctantly paused for a moment in her tugging, "I can't afford for you to be seen. Come on Gray" she called to the little wolf, who glanced upwards at me before wagging his tail and then darted towards her. I sighed. I c****d my head and watched as Sadie was dragged out of sight. Part of me contemplated going after her, but another, smaller part of me knew it would do no good. Legally I couldn't take her until she was an adult. Nor could I risk showing her who I was just yet. I would have to be content with the fact that I had managed to sneak a look at my mate and that despite everything, she seemed to be going well. As
