CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
“Thanks for picking me up, Leon,” I said, breaking the silence that had fallen in the car. The streets were filled with people going about their business. Only if they knew how chaotic this town really was. If they could find out that the people they interacted with during their daily routines were more than what they saw on the surface. Only if they knew that beyond the flesh, they were werewolves and some me like, were demons too.
“No, problem,” There was no enthusiasm traceable in Leon’s voice. I glanced at him; his eyes focused on his driving but I could see lines of weariness traced on his face.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered.
“Its not your fault,” he responded simply, his tone definite, giving me the hint, he didn’t want to dwell on the subject.
