“Are you ready?” Kayen stood on the porch of Avery’s home, wearing a shirt and casual pants with black shoes. He scanned Avery from head to toe. She wore her favorite home sweatpants and oversized T-shirt, telling him right away she wasn’t ready at all. “For what?” Avery asked, confused by his sudden appearance in front of her home. It was around eight pm and around that time, Avery always stayed home, reading books or simply watching TV while relaxing after a long day full of excessive physical activity. Her training increased the intensity and, for the past few days, she never practiced with less than two people at the same time. Avery also entirely forgot about the party.
