“Is everything ready?” Abby rushed through the kitchen, asking if they were fully settled for today’s event. Five days ago, she rushed people to the town’s farm, getting piglets, a bunch of chickens and turkeys, but she still felt it wasn’t enough. Three days ago, she sent hunters into the woods to bring two big deer. They had been preparing meat since then. “Everything’s ready.” Nara, the oldest kitchen attendant, and the one responsible for the girls working there, replied to Abby, assuring her they were ready not only with the meat for today’s party. They cooked the side dishes, sweet and salty desserts, canapes and everything which one could think of. “Perfect,” Abby replied with a broad, happy smile on her lips, satisfied with her planning. They didn’t properly celebrate for years.
