Pictures flashed into Dave's memory, but because of the situation at hand, he couldn't process what they meant.
He turned to look at Davina in panic. "Who is this man? And why is he always after us?"
Davina chuckled. The last time, he had woken up and forgotten everything about the right.
"He's the man responsible for the numerous deaths we're investigating." Davina said and watched the man's eyes widen in panic.
Dave looked at the werecat who didn't dare approach as he noticed Dave had grown stronger.
"Shouldn't we run?" Dave panicked.
"We should. But I doubt that man would let us." Davina shook her head sadly. She could do something to get them out safely, but recalling the identity of Dave and the fact she needed him to embrace his identity so badly.
"I hate you." Davina suddenly said, looking towards the werecat.
The man smiled wryly. "I feel the same, Barbie."
"Dave, go into my room and phone Jackson. Turn on your phone's location!" Davina instructed.
Without arguing, the man nodded and ran towards the place he saw her walk in earlier.
Seeing how scared he was, the werecat laughed and asked out loud. "I can't believe I'm scared of that kid."
Davina smiled. "You noticed too. Can't wait to watch you receive another beating from him."
"The last time we fought, you were unconscious." He sneered.
"Whatever." Muttered Davina as her eyes shone red.
The man panicked. The last time they met, her aura wasn't this frightening. Cautiously, he glanced behind him.
Narrowing his eyes, he caught sight of her pendant and sneered. "Dear Alpha, I'm quite disappointed in you."
"When facing a despicable enemy like you, one needs to be shameless and cautious." Davina smiled and attacked.
Her first punch was easily guarded by him. She moved back instantly and locked eyes with him. She lunged towards him and bent one knee, then used the other to sweep him off his feet.
it was a move the man hadn't expected. Hence, he was thrown to the floor. Before he got up, the lady had rained a few kicks and punches at his chest.
"I did underestimate you, Alpha!" This time, he went all out.
Walls broke in intervals, and so did bones. By the time Dave rushed back to the sitting room, he was horrified by the sight he saw.
Davina had become all bloodied and had difficulty breathing. The werecat wasn't any different, but that didn't matter to Dave who felt his blood boil at that moment.
He however, prioritized his partner and ran towards her. Davina was quite disappointed seeing no change in him.
"Did you call them?" She breathed out forcefully. The man nodded. "I don't know how long I can hold on."
The werecat, who had been assured by his cat that Dave was a piece of cake, snorted. "Aren't you gonna fight me like a man?"
Dave didn't turn to look at him, but his gaze darkened. The change made the corners of Davina's lips curl.
"Fight you?" Dave asked with contempt, looking down on him. "I don't fight kids, I beat them!"
The werecat had no time to think as the man rushed towards him and pushed him towards the wall. The wall caved in and the duo fell into the kitchen.
Davina frowned. It had cost her a lot to fix the door the werecat broke the last time. It seemed she was going to change houses again.
Recalling a fight was going on at the moment, she clutched onto her side and got up. Then rushed towards the caved wall.
The werecat was surprisingly overpowered by Dave much to his annoyance. Thankfully, Dave was still a novice who had no idea how to control his powers. Hence, he was beaten up badly by the man.
"Detach yourself from him!" Davina yelled in panic seeing Dave would be killed if the werecat kept on hitting him.
Dave did as told and rushed to her side. He turned to look at Davina and shrieked. "Davina! I feel power flowing within me!"
"Does your blood boil? Do the hits hurt? Then do something or we'd be dead!" Davina gnashed her teeth angrily.
Dave nodded. He had no idea why he nodded but he knew he had to do something. At that moment, he heard a voice in his head. "Damn it! Hold on buddy!"
He felt his bones shift, before being forced to go on his knees. He groaned painfully as he shifted into a werewolf.
His shiny golden fur caused great panic in the werecat who suddenly took steps backward.
Davina on the other hand felt proud. Her days of anguish were finally over.
The werecat went on his knees and also transformed. In his human form, he doubted he could outrun him.
Dave pounced on the man and together they broke series of walls before stopping in a house with a family of four in it.
Davina, who was following behind them, panicked. Family of four! With a boy and a daughter!
However, before she could do anything, the werecat rushed to them and slashed them across the necks at once. They died instantly.
The werecat grinned at them before jumping out nimbly through the window.
Almost immediately, they heard the sound of a siren. Davina suddenly realized something.
"Dave, let's leave!" She yelled and rushed towards the man.
Dave had transformed and was naked. Gnashing her teeth, she pulled the dead man's clothes and threw it at him. "Dress up."
"What about them?" The man asked guiltily.
"Dress up, Dave! The cops are here and there are cops where we are! Do you know what that means?"
"They'd say....we killed them." The man said in realization.
"Exactly!" Under her hot gaze, the man hurriedly dressed up and together, they rushed out.
They never knew they'd go from detectives to murderers in matter of seconds after the fight was trailed from Davina's apartment to the dead family's house.
Meanwhile, a certain man was badly injured.
