The elevator closed and Isabella stormed into the washroom. Jonas stared at her and sighed.
Quietly, he walked after her. Because it was a female washroom, he couldn't go in and could only mutter softly outside the door. "Isabella, don't do anything stupid."
In response to his words, was the sound of something breaking. Then an agonized scream from Isabella.
He stood outside for some minutes before walking back to the office. Meanwhile, Isabella stared at herself in the broken mirror and grinned menacingly.
"What happened to you? Did you suddenly lose your mind?" Davina raked.
Just like before, the man lowered his head guiltily. His eyes flashed and he thought back to that second after Davina told him about the video Isabella posted.
He had suddenly felt rage building inside of him. And the next moment, he found himself walking into the elevator and headed straight up to Isabella.
"I really don't know. I just felt bad bringing shame on you." The man replied timidly.
Davina paused. Then turned to look at Dave. Fully aware they had caught the interest of the people in the room, once again, she sighed and said. "Have your seat. We'd talk about this later."
Dave nodded and sat down. He lowered his head onto the desk. Davina's eyes caught sight of a mark on his neck.
Her gaze flickered.
There was no longer drama for the rest of the day. Dave and Davina buried their heads on their computers doing some research.
After work, Davina hurriedly packed her things and rushed out. Just like she expected, Tabitha was already for her.
"Look we have here. My very own detective." Tabitha said cheekily.
Her loud voice attracted passersby who also turned to look at Davina. Davina couldn't help blushing in embarrassment.
"You—know when to shout and when to speak lowly!" Davina stomped her foot childishly.
Not only had the cold personality faded, it had also been replaced with a childish one.
"Umm....Davina?" A voice suddenly called behind her.
Without turning around, Davina already knew who it was. Tabitha also noticed something was amiss.
She tilted her head to a side and glanced behind Davina to see the man who stared nervously at Davina with big round eyes.
"Is that him?" Tabitha asked, staring at Davina but the lady made no move to say anything. So, Tabitha stared at Dave and asked. "Are you Dave?"
Only then did Dave notice the girl who was seated in the silver Lamborghini. Her question settled in his head and he nodded. "Yes, I am."
"Oh." Tabitha muttered and looked him over. Then she turned to look at Davina with a small smile. "He isn't bad."
Davina merely stomped her foot again and turned to look at Dave. "What do you want?"
Dave chose not to notice the tone of her voice as he said. "I have something to ask of you."
"Ok, go on." Davina said growing a little irritable.
"Do you mind having dinner with me?" The man requested after a moment of silence.
Davina was taken aback. She tilted her head and stared at the man who was often narcissistic and wondered what was wrong.
"I don't have any free time today."
"Not today, on Friday." The man quickly inserted.
Davina muttered an 'oh'. "Time and location?"
"5pm. It's a surprise, I'll drive us there." The man replied, smiling broadly.
She stared at him in bewilderment wondering where he learnt how to put on such a creepy smile.
"Oh okay. If that's all I would be going now." She said and waited for him to say something else but he didn't. Then she turned and walked towards Tabitha's car.
"That fellow Is so damn hot and cute!" Tabitha muttered, still peeking at Dave.
Davina rolled her eyes, then reached out to move her head to the front. "Be a little professional."
"I appreciate good things when I see one." Tabitha smiled, then turned her head in a split second and yelled. "Good night Dave!"
Thankfully, she stepped on the pedals almost immediately, otherwise, Davina would've died of embarrassment.
Dave however, touched his red cheeks and muttered underneath his breath. "Good night, Davina and Davina's friend."
A man who was directly opposite him, on the other side of the road smoking, raised his cat-like eyes to look at him and snorted.
In the Lamborghini, Tabitha put away her flirty attitude. "Cat man hasn't made an appearance in days. I don't know why."
Hearing her last sentence, Davina instantly became suspicious. "You don't know why? Seems like you do."
"I just told you I don't. Hehe." The latter shrugged. "By the way, you said something about seeing Harriet through your text."
"Yeah. I have something to ask her." Davina nodded.
"Should we head there now?"
"If you're not busy."
"Silly you! I close at work every working day at 2pm, then I laze around all day!"
Davina rolled her eyes. Once again, she was showing off in front of her.
Soon, the duo arrived in a bungalow. The duo got out and the sight of a luxurious car attracted gazes towards them.
The corners of Davina's lips twitched. "You see why I said we should be less flashy? Cars like this make us the center of attention."
"What's wrong with being the center of attention?" Retorted Tabitha as she glanced at the people around with a smile.
Seeing her attitude, Davina gave up and drew her towards the bungalow. They pushed the gate open and walked in.
"That moment when your two friends decides to visit you." A blonde with a smudged, black eye pencil chuckled.
Tabitha stared at her with distaste. "I've told you times without number to stop making your make-up like this!"
Harriet glanced at her and hissed. Then walked towards Davina and engulfed her in a hug. "I missed you so much, baby!"
"I missed you too, Harriet." Davina smiled.
"Can you two stop doing that? Davina, get straight to the point. I don't have the whole day. " Tabitha snorted, earning a helpless look from Davina.
Who was it that said she got off work by 2 and would be lazy around the whole day?
"You can leave if you want to." Harriet frowned at Tabitha's words.
"We came here together, so I'm gonna leave with her. Besides, we came with one car, if I go with it, how will she get home?" Tabitha tsked.
"I have a car. I can always take her home." Harriet grinned.
Sensing the two were about to bicker, Davina hurriedly stepped in-between them. "I have something to ask you."
Only then did the women's voices cease. Tabitha huffed and walked over to the wine cellar.
She took out an especially eye-catching wine and poured it directly into her mouth.
Harriet watched this scene but refused to comment.
Calming herself, she took Davina's hand and led her over to a cushion. "What is it?"
"What does a Golden Fur mark symbolize?" The other asked.
Harriet frowned. "A Golden Fur mark! Where did you see it?"
Davina was startled by Harriet's enthusiasm that she moved back. She thought of Dave and shook her head deciding not to expose him just yet. "I just came across it somewhere. However, I really can't recall where I saw it."
The fire in the other woman's heart died down. "Where did you see it?"
"I can't remember." Davina lied.
Harriet sighed but her mood had improved by leaps. Davina naturally noticed the smile which hung at the corner of her lips.
"Is there something interesting about these people?" She asked.
Harriet nodded vigorously. "They were the most precious of werewolves."
"Were? Are they no longer in existence?" Davina asked in confusion.
"It's a long story my dear." Harriet smiled sadly. "However, if what you said about getting one is true, then there's still hope for werewolves."
Meanwhile, a certain person stood outside staring at the Lamborghini and then at the bungalow in shock.
He beckoned on a passing man. "Hello, excuse me."
The man stopped and smiled patiently at him. "How can I help you?"
"I umm, that bungalow, do you have any idea who occupies it?"
The man stared at the bungalow and shook his head. "Most of the people living here, including me, have no idea. But it's rumored that it's a young woman who lost her husband and son to a fire. So she packed in here to mourn them and has been living in self isolation ever since. She also has two young ladies who takes care of her."
"Oh. That car over there. Do you have any idea who those ladies are?"
"People say it's her nieces. They come at least once every two months." The man smiled.
"Thank you very much. And sorry for any delay I might have cost you." The young man returned the smile and stepped aside.
He walked around the street, patiently waiting for Davina and Tabitha to come out.
An hour later, they did.
