In a five star hotel
Three men can be seen deliberating on something. One of them suddenly looked up and glanced at the others.
"A recycling company said they had picked up a pair of weird clothings. Without a doubt, that should be the clothings Dave and Davina had on." He said.
The others nodded. "I'd pay a visit to the company. You two, pay a visit to Davina's home. Taking her personality and the close bond she shares with her mother, she must've tried to visit her mother."
The rest nodded. And got back to their computers.
.....
"Seems you've become quite unreliable. Not only have you let Dave get into trouble but you also can't trace him." Dave's father said to the leopard.
The leopard man had his head lowered as he got reprimanded.
After Dave and Davina had taken off, he had been on the mission to find him. However, they seemed to have disappeared without a trace.
"I'm trying my best."
"Your best?" The man scoffed. "Your best isn't enough. Try harder. Now leave!"
The leopard nodded and hopped off through the window. Almost immediately, the door opened and Dave's brother poked in his head. "Dad, dinner is ready."
The man waved his hand dismissing him Erik closed the door but clenched his fists outside his eyes brewing with hate.
He had once disappeared like Dave thinking the old man would come in search of him. To his utmost disappointment but not surprise, the man acted like he didn't exist. Continued his daily activities with Dave beside him.
"Dave, let's hope you're doing because I still want to be the reason for your death."
He left the house afterward, with his senses, he caught sight of the man who was seated quietly at the end of the street.
Walking towards him, he took out a pack of cigarette and extended it towards the man. The leopard man took it and lit it with a lighter.
Seeing he wasn't in a foul mood, Erik sat beside him and also lit up his. "How have you been holding up, Elvis?"
Elvis said nothing as he took long drags from the cigarette. "I should be asking you that. At least I get to leave the house."
Erik chuckled bitterly, then reached out to take off the man's hoodie cap. His masculine face came into view.
"Even though you fail to display it, I know you're very hurt."
Erik said nothing else as they sat there silently. Finally, he proposed. "Actually, I have nothing to do for the time being, I'm also very interested in finding my 'brother'."
Elvis glanced at him but said nothing. At that moment, the sound of footsteps elongated their ears.
The man walked towards a bin and stood over it for a while. Then he squatted and scooped up some sand with his palm, looked it over before throwing it back to the ground.
He sighted them and walked towards them. "Sorry for disturbing you, but I'm new here and I'm in search of someone."
"Who can that be?" Erik asked after a few hesitation.
"Guy McCallum."
None of the younger men said anything. They stared at the elderly man who seemed to be their father's age mate.
"Three houses away from here." Seeing Erik didn't plan on replying, Elvis supplied.
The man looked at them, finding them a little interesting. But in order not to appear probing, he nodded and thanked them.
After the man had gone a little farther, Elvis glanced at his brother. "Should we eavesdrop?"
"I'm bored anyway."
As quietly as they could, they stalked back to their house.
Guy McCallum sat in his usual seat reading his newspaper when a man walked into his house.
Seeing him, his forehead bulged. "After all these years, you still invade people's privacy. How stupid!"
The man chuckled, drew a cushion and sat on it. "Evading privacies is what I love most. Especially when it's yours."
"What do you want?" Guy asked, tossing the newspaper aside.
"Dave. Hand him over to me." The man stated straightforwardly.
Guy suddenly laughed. He laughed so hard that his stomach seemed to hurt.
"You're still so funny after so many years! Have you suddenly forgotten what happened back then?"
"That was back then." The other man replied stubbornly.
Guy moved forward and sneered. "Taylor, you lost to me 24 years ago, if you try to fight me again, you'll lose miserable again."
Taylor smiled sadly. "We all know why I lost back then. Dave is missing, whoever finds him first, gets him. Besides, he's my biological son."
Hearing the last sentence, Guy's face stiffened. Soon, he exploded in rage. "Don't you dare repeat that! Should I remind you of what happened that year!"
Unlike Guy's flustered look, Taylor looked relatively calm. He glanced around the house with a tsk. "I heard you abducted two sons. Tsk tsk...what I'm I saying? All sons with you all belong to another couple."
Guy who always had a tea cup beside him, took it and flung at him. Taylor didn't move aside, so the cup flew straight on his temple, but before it could touch it, the man raised his hand and caught it.
He scrutinized it keenly before muttering. "This porcelain cup must be of great value. Seeing you're using it for tea, I guess it's one of your most precious."
He had guessed it alright, but he had a sinister look in his eyes and voice. Even the two men outside could guess he was up to no good.
Just like they expected, a sudden c***k resounded in their ears. Elvis and Erik exchanged a bewildered look.
Other than Dave, none of them was permitted to touch it. From the way they conversed with each other, the two men didn't fail to realize they were mortal enemies.
Now, Taylor had broken the cup he treasured so much. They held their foreheads with a finger expecting a fight to break out.
