I look at the couple in front of me as a memory surfaces. I remember that night they are talking about. I was so scared at first, but grandma assured me everything was okay.
“I remember a night when I was little and there was a commotion in the house, but grandma rushed into my room and said that a friend of hers was trying to get a rat out and that everything was okay. That I was safe and I could go back to sleep and so I did. The next day she told me we were leaving” I said as I took the napkin Jasper was giving me.
“What about your enemies?” Jasper asked.
