Her eyes turned to look at Dmitri, who was still standing by the window, his shoulders tense, his jaw tight. “What do you mean someone’s watching me?” she asked carefully, her voice unsure. “This is literally one of the most safest estate in the whole of Russia.” Dmitri turned from the window and met her eyes. For a brief second, she saw something raw in his gaze—concern. But just as quickly, he covered it with his signature smirk. “I thought I saw something,” he said.
