The infirmary smelled of herbs and damp cloth, the walls built from ancient stone, making it cooler than I’d expected it to be as Elian carried me inside. The building housed lots of rooms, which I assumed were similar to the hospital rooms back home. I was the only one in the room Elian took me to, the light from the flames of a fire in the fireplace made willowy shadows all across the room.
