Chapter 30: First day preparation

Today is Nick’s first day of school in my school so I woke up really early because I know that he will be early. Whenever Nick is excited, he tends to wake up early. The class starts at 7:30 am but there will be a flag ceremony at 7:00 am and the time of travelling from here to there is at least 10-15 minutes. In that case, we need to leave the house before 7:10 am because I always give 5 minutes of extension for some circumstances. Luckily, there isn't any traffic going to my school which is really an advantage to me. I was never late for my years of being a student at that school. That’s why I was even awarded as an outstanding student because of that. I have been a role model to every student and I don’t want to lose that award until the time that I will attend that school. 

I already finished taking a shower and now am dressing up in my school uniform. I really like my school uniform, it makes us the students look like princes but of course we aren’t. Only sportsmen and smart people can get into this school. This school is considered as a top school in the whole country. Nick on the other hand is not that smart but was able to pass the entrance exam because he studied a lot before getting the exam. Nick told me that he doesn’t know any sports so I just reviewed him with questions I got when I got there. There are only two ways to get into the school, either you are good at sports and smart. So I have no choice but to teach Nick. The school is really amazing, I remember getting the examination when I was about to go to school here for grade one. I didn’t not study anything because I am confident that I can pass it and I did. I am still not sure about Nick’s strength but he is a fast learner even though he is not that smart like me. 

Nick will be very surprised about how my school works today. The school also separates people in different levels so there are a lot of classes. Since Nick got accepted taking the examination, he will be in the achievers class. But, we still don’t know what section he is in because he also has to go through the interview and he had that already but the results are shown on the first day of the class. I am also excited to hear his results though. I am in section A so I really hope that Nick will be too. 

I finished dressing up so I came near the bed where Nick is sleeping and started to wake him up so he can also prepare himself. “Nick, wake up. It is your first day.” I said as I shook Nick. “Oh, I’m sorry… and thanks.” Nick said as he hurriedly went to the bathroom to take a shower. I smiled after seeing him so excited. 

I am happy to be part of Nick’s firsts and to be with him all these times. Now, it is his first day of school and I really want to see his reaction when he enters the school. “I will go downstairs first. Hurry there okayy?” I shouted to Nick. “I will be thankful.” Nick replied inside the bathroom. I went to the stools to get our bags and brought them downstairs. 

“Good morning Janice.” I said as I got in the living room. Janice is also here dusting the TV screen. “Good morning, you’re quite early.” Janice said while giving a wide smile. “Yeah, I woke Nick up so we will not have any trouble going there. I have a lot of things to show him.” I said to Janice with a wide smile too. “How cute.” Janice said which made me shy. “Stop it! I am just being a good older brother to him.” I replied to Janice. “Older? You just have a month gap with each other.” Janice teased me. “It is still older.” I replied to Janice. “Fine then. Maria and Leonora.” Janice called out Maria and Leonora who walked past the living room. “Good morning.” Maria and Leonora said. “I think you need to get their breakfast ready because they have to be at school early.” Janice said to them. “You must be excited.” Maria said, teasing me. “Yeah.” I replied. Leonora was just smiling widely. “Okay.” Maria replied. Then they walked to go to the kitchen. I will just patiently wait for Nick here. It is still 6:30 am though. 

(After 7 minutes)

I heard footsteps going downstairs so I turned to look at who the person was and saw Nick. “Umu! You look great with that uniform.” Janice exclaimed as soon as she saw Nick. I have to admit, Nick really looks so good with our uniform. “Thanks Janice.” Nick replied to Janice feeling shy. “Let’s eat so we can go to school already.” I said to Nick. He didn’t say anything instead, he just followed me 

and sat on the chair ready to eat. 

(After 10 minutes)

“Finished!” I shouted as soon as I finished my breakfast. I turned to look at Nick. “Finished too.” Nick said while gently smiling. “Good. Let’s go to school now.” I said to Nick. Then I saw Nick getting out of his chair and walking inside the living room. I just followed him. He got the bags that were on the sofa and gave me my bag. “Your bag.” Nick said. “Thanks! Let’s go.” I said to Nick as I put my right arm on his neck. We continued to walk outside the house and got in the car. Janice hopped inside the car too. She will also be in the school to guard us and assured that we are safe. “Is Janice going with us?” Nick asked. “Yeah, she always does. We will also eat lunch inside there. Don’t worry, Janice will only be in the guardians area where guardians and some parents stay.” I answered Nick. I think he is still new to this. It is my fault because I did not tell him. “Oh, I see. Thanks!” Nick replied. “You are welcome.” I replied to Nick. “Fasten your seat belts please because we will be going now.” The driver said.
