Chapter 28: Me and Janice's secrets

Michael and I are going to the mall to buy some school supplies. Mom and dad were very sorry because they can't be with us today to buy supplies for school. So mom and dad instructed Janice to be with us to buy together. Janice has the money that we will be using for the things that we will buy today. 

I am currently inside the bathroom taking a shower. While Michael is still sleeping on the bed. Don't get him wrong, he is not late. I just woke up really early because I am so excited. Whenever I am excited, I unconsciously wake up really early without noticing that the time is still very early. I don't care, at least I am not late right? Michael is not that excited maybe because this is not a big thing for him. It is still the same school that he was in last time so it doesn't give him anything to be excited about. 

I am nearly finished here inside the bathroom but still no signs that Michael is already up. After a minute I got out of the bathroom and went to where our closet is. I put on my clothes to wear when we go to the mall. I finished putting my clothes on then went to see if Michael was already up, when I got there he was still sleeping. I checked the time on the clock that was on the wall and it says that it is already 7:05 am. I needed to wake him up because the plan was to go to the mall at 8:00 am. 

Actually, I was a little after seeing  the time because I remember myself going inside the bathroom at 6:30 am. So it took me a really long time just to shower. Dude! Seems like I really cleaned myself well. Normally, I just shower for 10-15 minutes to the extent just to clean myself really well. But today is not just right. 

I started to shake Michael's body to wake him up. Knowing Michael, it takes him a long time to wake up so I prepared a really loud music in my phone just reserved for him. So whenever I have to wake him up it would be easier. Actually, this just got in my mind yesterday while I was listening to music. I happened to accidentally click this loud music in my YouTube app and listened to it. When it accidentally played, I was so shocked and my heart was beating so fast because the music was so loud that I even felt my ears were about to explode. I am not exaggerating it, this was really what I felt. I paused the video on YouTube immediately. After that, something came to my mind. An evil plan, it was to use this music to wake Michael. For weeks that Michael and I are sleeping together, I really have a hard time waking him up for breakfast. I don't know what he does in the evening when he sleeps a lot. I even imagine myself waking him up for school so I prepared everything already. So today is my experimental plan. 

I took the phone that was on the desk then I volume up to the loudest then searched for that music and placed my speaker on Michael's right ear. I moved a little away and just extended my hand to reach his ear. I clicked the play button of the music and it started to play. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Michael exclaimed as soon as he heard the music. See? My plan went well. "HAHAHA wake up, it is already 7:07 am, we are going to the mall at 8:00 am. So don't be such a jerk because I don't want to delay Janice and the driver because you are so lazy to wake up early. And by the way we still need to eat before going to the mall." I said to Michael while giggling. I know for sure that even though I was giggling, he can understand my pronunciation and what I was saying really well. "Dude, do you really have to do that? I thought I was in a race, my heart was beating so fast because of the shock." Michael said. "Yeah, I need to. Because you are a heavy sleeper and that means you are as hard as rock to wake so I did that." I explained to Michael. I will not let him win this conversation. I will win this. "Ugh! Whatever, I am going to take a shower now. You just wait downstairs and let us eat together." Michael said and got out of the bed. "Hey, be in a hurry, okay? Don't be such a pain to Janice and the driver." I said to Michael. "Yeah yeah. I know." Michael replied. He then started to walk toward where the bathroom is. 

I really get mad whenever Michael delays me because I just think of other people's behalf. I don't want us to be a pain for them. I know that mom and dad pays them but it doesn't mean that we can do anything we want. 

I also started to walk outside the room and went downstairs to eat but I need to wait for Michael because he told me that we will eat together. As soon as I got to the kitchen I saw Janice who is now prepared to go to the mall. "Hey Janice, good morning." I said to Janice with a wide smile. "Good morning. You have that smile again, what did you do?" Janice asked. Janice knows that I sometimes do funny things to Michael and I just do it because I want revenge. Well, today is not a revenge, I just want to wake him up in a funny way. "I woke Michael using loud music and put it on his ear, he was so flustered to hear the music and woke up." I said to Janice. "Oh that's the reason why I heard a voice, unfortunately I was not able to hear what he said well." Janice replied. She is my comrade here. I often tell her about Michael and things. "Oh really? His voice was loud but I didn't care about it because I laughed so hard after he woke up." I said to Janice. "I wonder if he is mad after what you did." Janice said while scratching her right elbow. She often does that whenever she is focusing on something. "No he wasn't, he just asked me the reason why I did it to him." I replied to Janice. "Wow, what did you said?" Janice asked. "Well, I just answered the truth, nothing more." I answered Janice's question. "You know, everything became so fun for me since you came here." Janice replied. "Thanks. Everything has become fun since I came to this household too." I answered Janice. 

I am really not lying to what I just said to Janice. I think I have changed a lot since I came here. But not a bad change, instead it is a good change for me. I learned to become a better person, except when it comes to Michael. Well, Michael is an exemption. I also learned to care for the people around me. Mom and dad did not tell me to but I got it to them by seeing them being good to other people. Janice told me about mom and dad's business and I am really touched by their kindness and I also heard about Michael. That he goes to charities to celebrate his birthdays. He is indeed a good person. Living in a house made me a good person. Well, at least that is what I think. 

After 5 minutes I think Michael came downstairs and sat beside me. Janice then went to get our breakfast prepared. "Wow! You are fast." I said to Michael. "Who told me to hurry?" Michael replied. Tsk! Him and this attitude of him. "Well, great. Thank you for being a nice person then." I replied back to Michael trying to annoy him more. "Whatever Nick, let us let us go and buy things for school already." Michael said with a wide smile while facing me. I thought he would be mad because I answered him in an irritating way but he wasn't. "Yeah. I am so excited." I said with a wide smile too. Janice then came and put the food on the table. So this morning we are going to eat oatmeal with milk and egg. This family is so healthy that I never even heard someone sick here. I like foods like this though so no worries to me. Janice and the other helpers eat earlier than us so they can prepare food for us. 

At first, I thought that they would eat what's left but it wasn't the case. Janice told me that our parents are so different to other people because they are so kind and so caring to the people around them. They don't even think of the helpers as just mere people who do things in the house but instead part of the family too. Janice also added that mom and dad pay them big time that the three helpers even cried when they received their first salaries. There was one time where Maria told me that she will not leave this household not until she is hired because she really respects and admires my parents a lot. She even said that she lived her life as a helper for 6 years but she was never treated well like what my parents did to her. "I will forever be grateful for their mercy and goodness." This was Maria's statement I will never forget. 

I finished eating already and Michael did so. "Janice, let's go." Michael said while jumping off his seat. "Lucky you didn't slip because if you did, I would have laughed a lot." I said to Michael. "No compassion. You should help me first." Michael replied. "Not gonna happen, I will laugh first then help you." I said and walked toward the front door. "Good morning."The driver said. "Good morning." Michael and I said at the same time. I went inside the car as well as Janice and Michael. After doing so I checked my watch to see the time and saw that it was 7:30 pm. Wow! The time is so exact.
