Chapter 43: The drink

Our class is near to finishing and I am really excited to go to our club. Luckily I was able to get some sleep during the break even a little because if not I would be really sleepy in the class. “See you in tomorrow 's class.” The teacher said and went outside our classroom. All the teachers were kind and very understanding to all of us. I really like that whenever the teachers ask questions, I am not one of those who is called to answer. It is not just because I am shy but also because I do not know the answers. Funny, but my mind was more on the fact and imagining what our club would look like and I am really excited to learn how to sing well as well as to play an instrument. 

When the teacher completely was not visible to us, my classmates started to pack their things and went outside one by one. I think they are also excited to go to their clubs. I really like how passionate the students here in the school are. Almost everyone left the classroom except the three of us and Jake. He might be waiting for our classmates to leave the classroom first. I was also thinking the same way. Unfortunately, I am together with John and Michael in which I am also waiting for them to pack their things.

After a few minutes, Jake started to pack his things and went outside the classroom. So after him I immediately stood up and fixed the things that were on my desk and then fixed my bag. “Someone is excited.” John said as he jumped at my back. “s**t!” I burst in surprise. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to surprise you.” John said feeling a bit guilty of what happened a while ago. “It is not your fault. I was busy fixing my things.” I said as I continued finishing what I was doing a while ago. 

“Your brother is nearly finished. Pack your things too so we can walk him to their club.” John said to Michael that is beside him in silence. “What is wrong with him?” I said to myself as soon as I noticed him beside John. “Normally you would tease me. Good thing you aren’t doing it right now.” I said to Michael. “I am saving my words and I am not in the mood to tease you so wait for your time.” Michael said and smiled a little. “Whaaa! It made his expression change a bit.” I said to myself as I looked at him. 

“Then? You are going to walk me to our club so hurry up and pack your things.” I said to Michael and pointed to his backpack. He immediately walked directly to his seat and packed his things. “How about you? Are you not going to fix your things?” I turned and said right in front of John’s face. “Sorry.” He said and slowly walked away from my sight. 

After I finished packing my things I went to the first row seat and waited for them while closely looking. “What?” Michael said as he turned his head to see me. “I am waiting for the both of you to finish because you two are taking so much of my tie already. If only I knew where it was.” I said to Michael. After I said that, I noticed John hurrying to finish his packing. I think he was guilty that I was being too outward with what I am thinking. Well, they can’t blame me. I don’t want to be late and have a grand entrance. That would be really embarrassing for me. 

“Okay! Let us go!” Michael said and then he put his arm around my neck. “Okay!” John replied. Michael also put his other arm around John’s neck then we walked together outside the room. “Ouch!” John said as he bumped his hand on the wall because we can’t fit on the door. “Get off me for a minute.” John said to Michael. 

Michael obeyed willingly. After we got outside as well as John, Michael again put his arms around John’s neck. “I am not a fan of this skin ship but I like it now. It makes me feel closer to both of them. I somehow feel like I am also a part of them and that we are best friends. 

“Oh! Before we go to your club, I want to buy something in the canteen first.” Michael turned his head and looked at me closely. His face is very close to me now and I want to push him but better not to because if I push him his head will bump with John’s head. I don’t want to hurt John just because I am annoyed with Michael. “Move your face.” I said softly to Michael. “Sorry. I just want you to know that I am serious HAHAHA.” Michael said and laughed. “What the hell? Serious about what?” I asked myself and now I just feel so dumb. 

“Just don’t do that again.’ I said to Michael with a serious voice. “Okay!” Michael replied immediately. We all walked together and reached the canteen finally. Michael took his arms around our necks. “You two wait here and I am going to buy something, clear?” Michael said as if he is a dad. “Clear.” John said cheerfully which made me turn my attention to him. “How about you?” Michael said and waited for me to answer. “It is clear, okay? Hurry and buy.” I said to Michael in an irritated voice. 

“My plan to go to the club early is now ruined because of him. If only I already knew where the club was, there would be no problem. Ugh!” I said to myself as we waited for Michael to finish buying. 

There was no line so we were lucky. Michael ordered hurriedly too which made me happy because I can sense that he is already feeling a bit guilty. After he ordered, the person who is in charge in the stall where Michael bought immediately gave him his orders. Michael ran towards our direction. “Hurry!” I said to Michael to add more tension. I am just making fun of him because he looks a little cute while running. “I am trying!” Michael shouted while running. 

Michael finally reached our direction. “Here, bring this with you for snacks and you can drink this one.” Michael said as he gave me a sandwich and a juice. “What drink is this?” I said because there is no name, just a glass and you can see what is inside. The color of the drink is a little bit green but a lighter one. This actually makes me think of a pee. 

“That is a calamansi juice. You will like it. And besides, you are going to sing… well, maybe… not pretty sure though, but I think you will so that will help your voice. For the sandwich, I gave you that because I think you will be hungry and you will have a break though so if you don’t want to talk with people pretend that you are eating so no one will approach you.” Michael said and explained everything about the snack and drink. “Whaa! This makes sense.” I said to myself. But I really wonder why they are using only glass and you can actually open this drink easily using your hand. “Ah! I know now. This school promotes being environment friendly so this is why. This is quite wonderful.” I said to myself while looking at the drink. 

“Okay let’s go to your club.” Michael said and walked straight. “Wait, how about you and John? I asked Michael as I stopped him from walking. “Look.” Michael said and pointed to his other hand that I was holding their snacks. “Oh, I thought you only bought snacks for me.” I said in a soft voice because I am a bit embarrassed. “HAHA! Thanks for saying that though. Now, let us hurry to your club.” Michael said while showing me a wide smile. I suddenly scratched my elbow and looked down. “Why am I even feeling shy? s**t! Michael! What the hell are you doing with me? Is he joking right now?” I said to myself while scratching my elbow. 

Whenever Michael acts like this and says something like this, I would usually scratch my elbow unconsciously. “Why are you scratching your elbow?” Michael asked as he looked at me doing it. “Stop it. Let’s go!” I said and walked straight. Michael did not say or reply anything but he followed me. “s**t! I forgot that I do not know where the club is located.” I said to myself as I scratched the back of my neck. “You two go first, I don’t know where the club is located.” I turned back and said to both of them. Surprisingly, they did not say anything and just did what I said. 

They took the lead and walked hastily. We continued walking until we reached the outside of the club.
