TWO DAYS TO THANKSGIVING

Lexi rolls out of bed , her arms stretching above her head before she pads to the bathroom , snuggling her sweater closer to her to keep her warm .
After using the toilet , she hurried back to bed , her toes numb from the cold tiled floor .
Laying in bed , she grabs her phone just as it rings .
Rolling her eyes , she taps on the screen , bringing her phone to her ear .
“Hi mom .” She tries to sound cheerful , but it was cold and she still wanted to sleep .
“Are you coming to sleep over tomorrow night ?” Her mom cuts to the chase , not asking how it’s going or how her daughter has been .
“Yeah .” Lexi shrugs since she knows that she won’t be joining her family for Christmas .
She didn’t feel sad about it since she had multiple Christmases alone in Amster
