Her voice still echoed through my head. It haunted me to my very core.
When I picture Avery, I see her smiling widely at me. Her eyes big and bright with excitement. She could talk for hours on end and would never lose the smile on her lips.
I spent many years asking for a mate from the Goddess and each time she ignored my prayers. Having Avery now, makes it all worth it. I would happily wait centuries more knowing that it would be her.
