Nicole turned her gaze from Adam to Marko, waiting for an answer to her question.
Marko scratched the back of his neck, his gaze on anyone but Nicole. “How about we get you upstairs?” He was not ready to have an argument in front of the boys. And he knew for a fact that an argument was coming.
Nicole narrowed her eyes at him, knowing that he was hiding something from her. Holding her tongue, she nodded and turned to the boys who were looking at them. “Let me go have a quick shower. And I am hungry!”
“What would you like to eat?” Xavier asked, already moving to the kitchen.
Nicole scrunched her nose, trying to think. “Well, no eggs, anything thing meaty or coffee.”
Xavier stopped and turned to her, looking puzzled. “So what does that leave? Oatmeal or cornflakes?”
Nicole made a face.
