Nicole turned away and walked back to the others before Marko could see her. She blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall. Taking a deep breath, she forced a smile as Janine and Samantha turned to her as she approached. Taking her seat, she reached for her coffee once again.
“And?” Janine asked as Nicole sat.
Nicole shook her head, “nothing. Marko will be here in a few minutes.”
Samantha and Janine exchanged looks before turning to Nicole.
Nicole could feel the eyes of her friends but she couldn’t bring herself to look at them. She swallowed the coffee, absently aware that it was her favorite flavour, as her mind tried to formulate different scenarios that might have warranted Marko to kiss Chelsea like that.
