I stood by the door, watching Sophia and my half-brother like a knife twisting in my gut. I knew she didn’t love him. I knew she was only doing this to get to me. But it didn’t matter.
I couldn’t stand the sight of them together. I couldn’t stand the thought of her with anyone but me.
Maybe Beverly was right.
