I turned my attention back to the table.
“I advise you to stay out of it, Isabella. All of this started because you interrupted the engagement,” Beverly was saying.
“She’s not going anywhere,” I said. “This is done. Anyone who has a problem with her can take it up with me. That includes family.”
Mum hit the table. “You think this is love? You’re being played and you’re too proud to see it. Just admit you were wrong. I know better for you and Isabella is just that.”
