EBONY The softness of the bed was something to relish, but staring at Drew was like watching a homemade movie in the making. His emotions were etched across his face. I felt movement in my head, which made me look back to see Cleo yawn but look back at me. “Why do I feel like we got hit by a train?” she grumbled, but her nose sprung up and sniffed. Her eyes darted to mine. “Mate,” she whispered, and all I could do was nod. I looked back to see Drew staring at me without saying a word. I cleared my throat. “Cleo just woke up,” I whispered. Drew nodded and smiled. I tapped the bed as I moved over to the other side of the bed. Drew sat down beside me and pulled me back so I rested on him. My head went back till it went to his shoulder, then his scent wafted over me, making my body relax.
