Mrs. Cole greeted her, and Serena smiled at her. She couldn't say a word, but nodded. I smiled too. I thought it was a good sign if Serena could smile at her. I motioned to Mrs. Cole to sit back, and I pulled Serena with me to sit down as well. I sat next to her, kept her hand in mine and I folded my other arm around her waist. I could still feel that she was nervous, but I hoped she would calm down in a little while. We started chatting about her, she actually repeated the things she told me.
Serena didn't speak, but her grip loosened on my hand, and I could feel she was less nervous. After we chatted for about 15 minutes, I could feel Serena holding my hand normally and she smiled. Mrs. Cole talked about her family. She's got two sons and she had a great relationship with her husband.
