Bonded to you

Episode 6

He held me tighter, but I could see something was strange. She looked like she had accepted the fact already, I'm going to leave her. We didn't speak anymore. We just held each other till we fell asleep. In the morning, I woke up before her. I watched her sleeping.

I wanted to wait until she woke up. It was the weekend, so we didn't need to go to school today. I tried to smile at her when she opened her eyes. She just watched me and pulled herself closer and laid her head on my chest. The time went quickly and I needed to leave. Not because I wanted to go home, but I had to take Eclipse home. We slowly dressed up. It was visible she cried a lot last night. I pulled her into a hug.

"I'll come back soon."

She smiled sadly, but nodded. Then I left through her window. I walked back to Eclipse. When we arrived back home, I took him back to his stable. He was the other who my heart ached for. He was really stubborn, and he didn't let anyone get close to him. Who will take care of him? What is going to happen to him? After I made sure he was comfortable, I left and went back to the house. As I entered, my dad ran to me.

"Son, where have you been? I was worried about you."

I had a meaningful look at him.

I didn't want to talk to him, so I just walked up the stairs to go back to my room. I was about to take a shower, when someone knocked on my door. I didn't say anything, but the door opened and my dad stepped in. He watched me and closed the door behind him.

He walked closer to me and sat on my bed.

"Son, please sit down for a minute."

I didn't move. He sighed.

"I know how you feel now, and I'm really sorry. You know, when your mother left me you were the only one who kept me alive. I decided to move on because of you. I came here to find peace. And we always had a good relationship. I always said that it doesn't matter what happens till I have you. To know that my empire of businesses and their profits are going to go to you one day makes me feel at ease.

Please believe me son, I tried to make it possible to handle things from here, but I couldn't. You are a young man now. I know you'd be okay on your own, but I couldn't be at ease if you weren't near me. New York is a really different world. But I'll help you go through the change."

I still didn't say a word. I couldn't believe that my father was doing this because of his own happiness. He watched me, and maybe he realized that I'm not going to accept this, doesn't matter what he says. He let out a sigh and stood up.

"I hope one day you're going to forgive me."

Then he left. I went to have a shower. I loved my father, but this time I felt I hated him. After showering, I wanted to go back to Serena. I wanted to be with her. He was the only person who felt the same as me.

As I walked down the stairs I saw some workers who covered the furniture. I was shocked. I ran to the kitchen.

"Mary."

She looked up at me. She was sad, but smiled at me.

"What's happening? Why do they do this now?"

"Didn't your father tell you, Kaiden?"

"What?"

"You are leaving on Monday."

"What?"

She looked at me with teary eyes. And nodded. I felt angry. My father cannot be that evil. I pulled her into a hug. She hugged me back.

"Please, Kaiden, write to me sometimes."

"Sure, I will."

I kissed her on her cheek and left the kitchen. Now I really did hate my father. That's not enough. He didn't give me a choice, but he didn't leave me enough time to say farewell to everyone. I left the house and went to the stable. I could hear from afar that something was wrong, and I heard some weird noises that instantly made me nervous, so I ran inside.

What I saw just made my heart ache more. Two of our workers, Hamish and Parker, tried to get close to Eclipse, but he refused and Hamish tried to hit him using a whip. That made me fum. I ran there and took the whip from Hamish's hand.

"What the hell are you doing? Don't dare to touch him with this. If I see this again I'm going to use it on you, understand?"

And I slammed the whip on the floor. They both looked at me in disbelief. I went to Eclipse.

"Hush body, it's okay. I won't let them touch you."

I held him tight, I hugged his neck and tried to keep him.

I caressed his head and kissed his forehead when he calmed down. I took his saddle and put it on him. I didn't care about them. I sat up on Eclipse and rode out from the stable. I went to Serena. I found her in there with Ivy. She noticed me entering, but she didn't move. I went to her and hugged her from behind.

"When do you leave?"

I held her stronger.

"On Monday. My father wants to leave on Monday."

"What about Eclipse? He won't take anyone except you."

"Serena, please listen to me."

She didn't answer me. She just lowered her head sadly.

"Serena, we can stay together. I will come back every single time I can. In school holidays I will come or even on weekends. I know it's hard, but we can do it. Two years or less, and as soon as I turn 18 I'll come back to you."
