“ I can walk,” Mia whispered. I looked down at her, I was beyond furious when I came to know had escaped. I would have killed Andrew for letting that happen by now. Without saying anything I made her stand up.

“ Mia,” Andrew said as soon as he swung the door open.

“ Mia…… his words died down looking at me.

“ Your highness, please come in,” he said, stepping aside. Placing my hand on her back I led her inside.

“ Place warriors around Andrew's house,” I said to Justin through the link.

“ Already done,” he replied.

“ I need a few sets of clothes here, I am staying here tonight. Take care of everything there,” I added.

“ sure. Take your time,” he said, dropping the link.

“ Go to your room, Mia,” he said, looking at me.

“ But….

“ Go,” I said, in my cold voice. Without a word she went upstairs not before looking at me for one last time.

“ How did you let that happen?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at Andrew. My fists were clenched as I was trying hard to control my anger.

“ I….. was….

“ I had given you a chance to explain everything to her and you said you did so what has gone wrong? How did she escape from your own house?” I asked through gritted teeth. He didn't say a word and kept looking at the ground.

“ Do you have any idea what could have happened to her if I was a few seconds late?” I asked, raising my voice slightly. The mere thoughts made me wild thinking about how he was hovering over her.

She would not in a million years stand a chance against him with her human strength.

“ He would have taken her to the rogue pack,” I said, his head immediately snapped in my direction as he looked at me with his wide eyes.

“ Alpha,” he said in disbelief. No one knew about this new found information beside Parker, Justin, and Emma.

“ I am warning you. If anything happens to my mate and the future queen of the wolves, I will not let you go and you know that,” I said.

“ Yes, alpha. I will make sure nothing happens like this,” he said.

“ I will be staying here,” I walked past him informing him. From the corner of my eyes I saw him giving me a curt nod.

I heard footsteps fading away as I was going up. I shook my head, she was eavesdropping.

I knew in which room she was in because of her delicious scent. Without knocking on her door I pushed the door open. I saw her standing in front of the window crossing her hands in front of her chest as her back was facing me. She was still wearing the same torn clothes.

“ It wasn't his fault,” she said. She is angry at me. Locking the door behind me, I walked behind her.

“ You don't have any right to talk to him like that,” she spat angrily.

“ For your thoughts, I have every right over both of you now as you are part of the biggest and strongest pack in the world,” I said, closing our distance.

“ Your safety is in my hands now,” I added, as my hand snaked around her tummy, pulling her to my chest.

“ Am I an object to you?” She asked, her voice quivering at the end.

“ No, you are part of my pack.”

“ My mate, my life,” I said.

“ But….. you are not a human being and it's not possible for us to….. she trailed off.

“ Neither is your mother but she accepted your father anyway because she had chosen to give him a chance,” I replied.

“ I don't want to be called a homewrecker,” she said.

“ What?” I asked.

“ Please just let me go,” she added quietly.

“ you are mine and I am not letting you go,” I said. My jaw clenched in anger.

I turned her around so she could face me and looked down at her. My heart clenched when I saw her tear stained face. Her eyes were swollen and had become red.

“ We will talk later,” I said, lifting her up in my arms. She didn't struggle this time.

“ You said he was a rogue,” she asked, as she leaned her head on my chest.

“ just like the one who killed my mother?” She asked. My body went stiff for a moment. Does she know? I asked myself. She would hate me for the rest of her life if she knew the truth.

“ Yes,” I replied.

“ Thank you, Gideon. For saving me,” she said, closing her eyes.

“ Let's wash you up,” I said, taking her towards the door opposite of the walk-in closet. I knew it became I had been here after they took her away from the ball.

“ what?” Her eyes immediately flew open staring at me in shock.

“ Put me down immediately. I can take care of it,” saying that she jumped from my arms before landing on the floor. Is she a cat?

“ Do you want me to go there with you or can you handle it?” I asked, teasing her. I wanted her to feel comfortable around me.

“ Shut up,” she yelled at me before scurrying away into the bathroom.

“ You need to mark her,” Zeus said in my head.

“ I know.”

“ Since there is a new threat we can't let her roam like that without a mark. And if we mark her she would be able to change,” he suggested.

“ I know all this but, i can't do that unless and until she accepts us,” I replied.

I looked towards the bathroom door when I heard the knob was turned. I was waiting for her to come out and when she finally did my breath hitched.

Gorgeous would be an understatement. There was nothing but a white towel wrapped around her chest which was keeping her sane.

“ I….. i…. Need to change,” she said, stammering as she was holding the towel tightly.

“ I am not stopping you, kitten,” I whispered, standing up from the bed. The water beads make her skin glistening. I could look at her for all my life and still won't get bored. How could someone look so innocent at s*xy at the same time?

“ I… need to…. Ummm…. Change,” I muttered out. I was clutching the towel tightly like my life depends on it.

“ Go ahead,” he said, urging me yet pinning me to my spot with his intense gaze. I saw him walking towards me at a dangerously slow pace.

“ you are driving me crazy,” he said, closing the gap between us. His close presence made my breathing heavy.

“ Please, just be my mate. I promise you I will fulfill any of your wishes,” he said, his voice was heavy with emotions. I have never seen this side of his.
