“You have taken enough from her! You will not take her voice!” I growled back, and my father took a step back looking shocked. Seeing the fear in my mother’s eyes, I realized I had just done something I told my new friends not to do, but I had to protect my mother. “Mom, please come.” I pleaded.
She looked at my father for a moment, then I saw sadness in her eyes. It was the sadness of loving someone that didn’t love you as much. Realizing it, and wanting better, but not being sure if it was the right thing to do. I didn’t want my parents to split up, but after my father turned his back on us so easily, I wanted my mother to have the chance at finding peace.
“My things. I haven’t packed anything.” She hesitated, and I could see my father growing angry.
