We ran through the forest. It was getting darker with every step we took. My lungs were still burning from all the fog back in the cave. Evan was pulling me forward as I tried to run as fast as I could, but my heels were still burning. Evan’s wounds had healed right after our powers had been heightened but mine were still very exposed.
My breaths were short and ragged, and I tried keeping my hair out of my face as it flew in the wind. Dread began to fill me as I saw myself in my vision, this was exactly how it had happened. I just hoped Evan and I had been able to give Mike, Jake, and Mary enough time to escape.
