Chapter Seventeen: Christmas
Bucharest. December 19th, 2013.
Alina was initially very happy to be back home in Bucharest. Her mother was positively glowing with health, and Alina suspected she might even have found a gentleman friend, judging by some cryptic comments she made over breakfast.
Roman was enjoying being able to focus on his studies – and even more so now that Alina had told him how she’d be able to help find him a university place in England. She knew Charles would be more than happy to put money aside for her brother’s education.
“So is Mama seeing anybody?” Alina asked him while the two of them were out walking on her third day back home.
